Peter Bergman has played Jack Abbott on The Young and the Restless for 30 years.

Just as I still remember Brenda Dickson as the original and the best Jill Foster Abbott, I still can’t erase the memory Terry Lester in the role of Jack considering it was his popularity that led to the creators of Y&R ushering in the Abbot dynasty that would take the show to number one.

It think “A Moody Christmas” worked better as a title. I also noticed from the trailer that they seemed to glam up the casting in the Amerocan version.

Denis Leary and Elizabeth Perkins almost seemed to be too young to play the parents of twenty somethings but then I checked their actual ages and I guess they just look Hollywood young for their ages. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ratings were OK - nothing very impressive despite the big lead in

The remainder of Fox’s lineup included back-to-back episodes of its new limited series The Moodys, starring Denis Leary. The comedy, filling in for Almost Family , saw its premiere episode at 8 PM (0.8, 3.29M) finish solid. Both metrics dipped for the second half hour (0.6, 2.39M).

This past week in the US - a run of episodes of Wheel Of Fortune have featured the shows 37-year-running hostess / letter-turner Vanna White taking over the hosting position from long-time host Pat Sajak.

Sajak was admitted to hospital and underwent emergency intestinal surgery to remove a blockage - hours before scheduled tapings. But is expected to be back on screens next month.

In interviews - White said she was very nervous about hosting - as there was elements of the show and the hosting role that she was actually not very familiar with.

A case of quantity rather than quality.

It’s likely that Nine will show The New World in Australia given it has supply deals with both NBC and BBC Natural History Unit.

A random observation. WJAR the Sinclair owned NBC affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island has a local Sunrise, network Today and local Studio 10!

Mary Hart and John Tesh hosted today’s Entertainment Tonight. They hosted together from 1986-1996.

I suddenly have a need to seek this out. Watched it religiously in those days. Always preferred John Tesh with Leeza Gibbons, though.

It was great seeing all their antics and out takes from the old days. They get on really well and really like each other, even if they aren’t close friends off screen. They don’t seem to do those sorts of things on the show these days because they spend way too much time covering gossip, rumours and scandal rather than entertainment news.

Ten should repeat this episode in the morning. Although they really disrespect this show these days and sometimes skip it. The afternoon screening is an absolute disgrace. They show parts of an episode because Survivor runs way over into the timeslot. Sometimes it’s half an hour, often it’s 20, 15 or 10 minutes. Today they only showed 20 minutes of it.

I’m recording the morning screening too. It will be on 10play tomorrow though.
