I can’t believe it actually lasted so long. I was expected it to be cut at least 5 years earlier, they’ve done well to last as long as they have.
Pop Culture Jeopardy! has launched on Prime Video today, with Colin Jost of SNL fame as its host. Not everyone is a fan though:
The game largely follows the regular format of the show with some key differences. Instead of three individual players, there are teams of three with each member having a buzzer. Each round also has a hidden Triple Play. When found, an answer is given with three correct questions. Teams must buzz in and each member must give a response. Each correct response gives the point value, but if they get one wrong, they lose that point value and the clue is opened up to the other teams.
In the seven-second scene, main character Peter Griffin is depicted standing next to a protester in front of a line of Chinese tanks – mirroring famous scenes of an unknown individual now known as “Tank Man” that were captured during the Chinese military massacre of student protesters on 4 June 1989 in Beijing.
The scene is from the series premiere, Death Has a Shadow.
PacknGo.hk, an online platform specializing in travel-related services, reported that a reader alleged the episode may violate the National Security Law.
The website accused Cathay Pacific of failing to effectively regulate the system and allowing the politically sensitive footage to spread “subversive ideas.”
The crossover will take place on NBC on January 29, 2025.
A good list of US return and premiere dates.
Nick@Nite, fair enough - but surprising that these shows are coming to MTV too…
How so? The Big Bang Theory is an ex-CBS sitcom (a Paramount asset) currently syndicated across Nick@Nite/Nickelodeon (a Paramount asset) and MTV (another Paramount asset).
Interestingly, the show was originally a Warner Brothers production, whose parent company at one point explored merging Max with Paramount+ (yet another Paramount asset). Additionally, that same parent company was considered a potential buyer for Paramount’s assets before Skydance and David Ellison finalised their merger deal.
Probably because TBBT doesn’t really fit into the bill of Catfish/Ridiculousness/Teen Mom 2 repeats
CMT are showing dramas now, these old school pay tv channels are fast becoming dumping grounds for old content.
They’ll likely all be sold off soon anyway, probably to whomever buys Comcast and Warners’ cable channels.
Was he related to Today host Bryant Gumbel?
