The split is going ahead.

I understand they might want to get MSNBC off their hands given the forthcoming political climate (and I argue NBC News Now is a relatively impartial replacement), but why CNBC? Both also benefit from the connection with NBC News, so would be interesting to see them going solo. I can’t understand why Bravo can stay too.

My guess for keeping Bravo is it produces a lot of original content which fuels syndication and international sales.
The other networks don’t produce much, if any, original programming so it’s a clean split. But cutting MSNBC and CNBC is a weird strategy especially since they’re profitable and strongly connected to news.

unless if it’s them wanting to invest in NBC News Now more, as it seems they are investing into that more and more compared to CNBC/MSNBC

Bravo’s content is also one of the key content pillars for Peacock.

Wonder if this split will extend to their non-US assets as well (like Sky in Europe)

Sky Group is already a seperate offshoot.

I’m surprised that they are actually separating MSNBC and CNBC from NBC News proper

CBS updated their 2020 bumper ID, with a bit more perspective and new SFX:

The twist and zoom feels similar to the classic Special Presentation intro, but not a fan of the SFX overpowering the jingle…
