Following on to a comment I made about US cable channels, MTV US are playing back to back Big Bang Theory and MTV2 are playing Mission Impossible movies.
CBSâ Fire Country wouldâve hit too close to home this week. With that in mind, out of sensitivity to the devastation in the Los Angeles area and out of respect for the tens of thousands impacted by the massive Southern California fires, the scheduled repeat of the Northern California firefighter drama this Friday is being pulled. A rerun of NCIS: Sydney will air in its place. CBSâ Jan. 10 lineup will consist of NCIS: Sydney repeats at 8 PM and 9 PM, followed by a S.W.A.T. encore at 10 PM.
Interestingly - and possibly the wrong decision - ABC7 LA (#1) dropped rolling news at 1am and went to Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, while all its competitors stayed on rolling fire coverage.
At 3.07am they went to network World News Now.
Iâm surprised a frame of this California Closets ad managed to slip through onto the Fox11 Los Angeles Wildfires YT livestream this morning given that they replace the ad breaks from their TV station with a filler screen, and now more recently, a donation screen from the American Red Cross thanks to the recent Wildfires. InterestingâŚ
Does anyone know why Fox11 Los Angeles doesnât show ads from their TV station on their YT stream? Is it because of a license agreement of some kind? Viewers tired of the ads? Or is it something else in particular? Thanks.
They all seem to have dropped the rolling coverage for a couple of hours, mind you itâs been the middle of the night their time so probably not a major issue.
With the recent weather announcements, unfortunately I donât think weâve seen the end of it.
Advertisers have not paid for online audience - only broadcast
Thanks.
Wonder if Universal Kidsâ closure will extend to DreamWorks Channel here?
Interesting figures:
On Jan. 7, KABC-TV in Los Angeles drew 318,000 viewers for its 6 p.m. newscast and just under 192,000 at 11 p.m. â gains of 86 percent and 42 percent over the ABC affiliateâs recent averages of about 171,000 at 6 p.m. and 135,000 at 11. KTLA brought in 282,000 viewers at 6 p.m., quadrupling its usual number (70,000), and 200,000 for its regular 10 p.m. newscast, more than double its average of about 80,000.
Telemundo affiliate KVEA (232,000 at 6 p.m., 177,000 at 11 p.m.), KNBC (124,000/82,000), KCBS (113,000/90,000) and Fox affiliate KTTV (68,000/87,000) also posted significant gains from their typical audiences.
For anyone who cares about TV history in the US, Arena on Foxtel/Binge is showing a very special episode of Wheel of Fortune tonight.
Itâs Pat Sajakâs final show after 42 years. The penultimate show last night had a very moving tribute from Vanna White.
Been about six months since he finished. Full episode is available on YouTube for anyone interested:
Another spin-off that would make it 5 in this franchise.
I wish we got the FBI True series in Australia.
