I completely agree. The first year was fine, and he was talking about a sensible handover to the next generation. Cognitive decline is real and there are very few people over 75 who don’t have some form of it.
You seem to always come back to the Palestine situation. This situation is very, very complex, and there are more than two sides to it. You have a view and that’s fine. But there are other views. If it was easy to solve it would have already been solved. I think it’s unfair to blame Biden on this one.
Biden could’ve been tougher on Netanyahu, rather than just blatantly supporting him and his fascist cabinet. The reality is only America has real sway over Israel’s actions in Gaza and Biden could’ve done more.
And no one should trust Trump to do anything productive. He’s best buddies with Netanyahu too.
On this. Let’s say if Biden did the right thing early this year and retired, and the Democrats had a proper primary season, would they still be able to have beaten Trump? Biden was proven quality in beating Trump and no one else has that record up until that point. It’s probably fair to suggest why the Democrats thought Biden had a chance until he didn’t, but it seemed that up till this year the electoral mood was going to swing Trump either way so I don’t know if any other candidates competing in the primary were going to have much sway and might open the door to division and disunity, which wasn’t on display at the GOP as they were all Trump backers.
I think I’ve really only mentioned it over the last couple of days. I don’t believe it cost him the election but I don’t think it helped…Of course it’s complex. That’s why it requires some leadership - from someone capable of doing something.
It will be one of his legacies that this happened on his watch.
I think it did, to a certain extent, and I know that people are entitled to their opinions but as soon as some of the prominent Muslim leaders in Michigan/Wisconsin said they were backing Trump (including the mayor of Dearborn) because of Gaza it was game over for the Democrats in the Rust Belt.
Muslim voters form (or formed) a strong pillar of their voting coalition so to lose them to Trump of all people has got to be a slap on the face for the Democrats. Not that it was purely Harris’ fault but Biden being staunchly pro-Israel most likely alienated the same people who voted for him in 2020.
I know what I’m concerned with thanks a lot - and it’s not allegations.
It’s the fact it happens.
Anyone who thinks politicians on both sides of the aisle don’t benefit from being able to buy and sell stocks with access to non public information is fooling themselves.
Members of congress should be banned from trading stocks. The fact that she is against that idea and her portfolio tripled the S&P last year are not co-incidence me thinks.
Agreed but I mean, anger and bias can (and in this case, have) lead to disillusionment. Even Bernie Sanders tried to explain that Biden-Harris wasn’t great but Trump would be worse, and they still fell for Trump’s line ‘We will end this war’.
I admire you for doing that but for me looking objectively there is no way that overall Trump is better than Harris or any Democrats, maybe except for lying through his teeth.
Unfortunately for Americans, 70 million+ of them voted emotionally than logically. That says a lot really. Politics have now lost its logical and objective train of thought and has now all become sentimental and character-driven. I doubt it’s going to recover in this decade.
News just out of Israel that another hostage has been killed. Trump has now warned that all hell will break loose if all hostages aren’t released by the time he takes office.
I would question why Palestinians and the Muslim community in general aren’t also calling for Hamas to release all hostages and stop killing them.
This is not a one-sided issue. However certain sections of left refuse to take a balanced view of this issue, and what started it all in the first place.
Again, if Muslims in Michigan voted for Trump then they are clueless, and get what they deserve.
Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s a codeword for Netanyahu that says: ATTACK
The real question is would Hamas listen? Common sense and evidence suggests not given they’re also super happy with Israel goading into Gaza and destroying their own people whilst they continue their own crusade.
Yep. Absolutely. No way Trump will be good with Muslim voters. It’s like Trump trying to appease the Chinese voters into thinking there won’t be anymore racism or trade wars from him. Yeah, my arse.
Things are rapidly changing in Syria atm. The Gulf States (maybe even Egypt) will likely form an alliance with the USA and Israel, the Iran regime will collapse, and if Trump (or Biden in his final days) has any sense, the USA will support the creation of an independent Kurdish State. Which will upset Turkiye (or Turkey, whatever) so much they will bail from NATO. Meanwhile, the EU will be dealing with millions more refugees.
Michigan and Minnesota Muslims will no doubt be bitterly divided among themselves, and many will probably be supportive of fundie Sunni groups.
Taking some time off the heated debate about Biden and his shenanigans. Came across this compilation and man, I so wish Biden 2024 was as sharp was Biden 2008 or even 2012. That Biden would’ve wiped the floor with Trump in a landslide. Nowadays he’s just a flesh-deprived version of a walking skeleton.
