KWQC news anchor Dustin Nolan announced his resignation live on air last Friday. The station is an NBC affiliate based in Davenport, Iowa.
only because of Keirâs resignation, itâs not a regularly scheduled simulcast.
Nolan now says he didnât resign live on air, and it was just his goodbye speech, which was pre-planned.

Breaking news being reported by the Radio and TV Business Report: seven Nexstar CBS affiliates are about to lose their affiliation deals with the network, and moving to digital subchannels. Four of the stations are owned by Hearst, and are located in Albuquerque, Jackson, Birmingham and the Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville market, where Hearst already has ABC and CBS affiliates. The other three, located in the Dakotas, are owned by Forum Communications Company, and are being placed on a subchannel of the ABC affiliates in Minot and Bismarck, and its NBC affiliate in Rapid City.
The changes are effective next week, on August 1.
UPDATE: Nexstar has confirmed the switches, whilst also announcing a renewal of most of its existing contracts with CBS. KRQE is being promoted to Fox (which is already on the second subchannel), whilst the other stations will be moving to the co-owned CW network. (Per Deadline)
UPDATE 2: Another affiliation switch announced. The non-news-producing Sinclair ABC affiliate KDNL is losing its affiliation too. ABC is moving to the second subchannel of Gray CBS affiliate KMOV (First Alert 4) on Labor Day. Along with ABC programming, they are simulcasting news programming from the station in the designated local timeframes.

Not a huge fan of having so much on the screen all the time. Seems to be the norm now for news channels.
Youâd hate Indian news channels. Boy oh boy do they fling a lot of stuff at you.
