US Late Night Shows

He’s only jealous because he couldn’t hack it at CNN. A late night show would be above him.

He’s just jealous his foray into US television failed. Everyone and their pet knows Colbert got the arse because they needed to push through the Paramount-Skydance merger and everyone must kiss the Mutant Orange’s backside.

Yet Colbert and his crowd continues to blame Trump. Which sorta played a part in this.

And now South Park ultimately demolished Trump. The White House went into meltdown after a scene popped up depicting Trump laying in bed with Satan. This was their response.

Taylor Rogers, White House spokesperson

The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end – for years they have come after South Park for what they labeled as ‘offense’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show.

Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows. This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention. President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.

I’m sure he’s happy with his weird YouTuber guests all screeching over each other and all the manlets who watch in their basements.

Meh. It still stinks of a suck up. I’m for any reason to bash the Orange Turd in any way, shape or form.

The White House can’t take anyone ragging on them. They hang shit on snowflakes but they’re the biggest snowflakes of all when someone puts it back on them.

Like Erin Molan.

Just watched the almost half hour appearance of Kamala Harris on Colbert. YouTube did say it was extended but from what I saw there were no cut to ad breaks.
I don’t know how much was broadcast on CBS or if there was clever edits to hide the potential cut to ad breaks in the upload.

If there were indeed no ad breaks in her appearance I wonder if Colbert’s team pushed for it as a FU to some certain people.

It’ll be on Channel 10 so maybe you could see there.

Is the cost the reason that a striped weekday late show hasn’t had legs in Australia for the last few decades?

In part, also lack of audience. We don’t have the scale that the US has at that time of the night.

I think the last time we had a nightly late show was with “Tonight Live with Steve Vizard” - that aired from 1990 until 1993.

I think the main reason we haven’t had a late show since would be cost. And generally speaking, we don’t stay up as late as they do in the US. Hence why none of the commercial stations give up after 9.30pm these days.

Although, having a studio audience shouldn’t be a detour, as Stephen Colbert’s show is usually pre-recorded in the late arvos anyway, and aired later,

In Melbourne Tonight was revived by the Nine Network in the late 1990s. A non-broadcast pilot episode was initially hosted by Tim Ferguson; however, the series’ televised run ultimately featured Frankie J Holden as its host.

There’s also a lack of (entertaining) guests in Australia. The majority of those appearing would probably be seen on breakfast TV etc as well.
