TV Week

Actually, I re-checked - it was 21 current, five ex: two of Peacocke, one of Kate Ritchie, one of Bonnie Sveen, one of Sophie Dillman (titled “Why We HAD To Leave!”)

Mind you, some people are never happy…

Oh, that explains it!

I wonder who will be on Home And Away Week cover this week?

Home and Away Tori and Christian to wed.

They have done something absolutely cringeworthy on the cover this week. They have run a banner advertisement right across the top of the cover, pushing the TV Week logo and main photo down the pages.

It’s for Harvey Norman and there’s an advert on the first double page spread. Yuck! :face_vomiting:

Can’t say I’ve ever seen adverts like that on a magazine cover before. Atrocious.

In recent years, I have seen ads attached to the spine of a magazine, covering up part of the front page. However, the Harvey Norman banner ad and the double page spread have to be a first for any magazine, let alone TV Week.

I think so.

There’s money to be made. Why do you think newspapers have been doing it for years?

Yuck. Sure, newspapers have been doing it for years, but magazines are different. Well, until this issue.

I understand that ads have been in TV Week - including the back page and inside the cover - from pretty much day one of selling the mag. But on the cover? Surely its a first.

Surprised they haven’t done this sooner tbh, I’m still surprised it’s viable for them to print / produce TV Week at this stage.

Kinda reminds me of what TV Week used to do back in the nineties.

what was that?

TV Week’s Instagram doesn’t show the ad at the top of the magazine.

dodgy.

Or perhaps HN didn’t pay extra to have the ad splashed over social as well

Found these on eBay. When TV Week had simpler covers back in '87.

Simpler?!

Yes. Very dodgy.

I hope this isn’t going to be the the norm now.

Ok, they had more words than pictures.

And now they have more words on the cover, in the form of shitty adverts. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nowadays it’s like “make sure every bit of the front cover has something on it”.
