Bridie Carter joining Home and Away. Plus, Which River Boy Returns? on the cover so they can put Brax Brax on the cover yet again.

Great news for me who is a Home and Away fan. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But in all seriousness, I imagine that the TV Week editors assume that H&A resonates with the majority of readers hence they place it on the cover most weeks?

So long since TV Week has had a refresh of it guide, is this a cost thing and trying to keep the price at $5.00

It’s beyond obsession though. They have an interview with Toni Pearen for I’m A Celeb but the headline is “I Could Go Back To The Bay”.

this is a joke?

If only it was.

I Could Go Back To The Bay:
Toni Pearen is open to returning to Home and Away - with a love child.

I didn’t even know she’d been in it

Sigh.

But sadly, they’ve had these type of headlines for years. But only for Home and Away.

I dont mind if they talk about her Home and Away days, but why with that headline? Why didn’t they have a “i want to host Funniest Home Videos again”?

It’d be a battle of survival at this point, so no doubt nothing is spent on anything that isn’t essential.

The TV guide desperately needs a refresh even just to accommodate so many channels now. But I agree if there is a cost involved to implement it, it’s not going to happen.

Claudia Karen for Bump.

Is this the first time a Stan show has been on the cover? I think so.

I can’t think of any straight away, but Bloom was a Stan series that had a January launch a few years ago so it might have squeezed in a cover in between Home & Away ones.

They did have Bloom on the cover last year but it was a composite cover so it almost doesn’t count.

They could have had a smaller banner and a bigger photo of Jackie Weaver and Brian Brown.

It’s good having Claudia Karvan on the cover - and also for Bump - the first for a Stan show (as a “full page”).

Also, the price has finally gone up to $5.20 - the first time in a while (was previously $4.99).

Here is the cover with Claudia Karvan.

I wonder what prompted the price increase?

Costs of production.

I am not on Facebook but I do take a look every now and then at the TV Week Appreciation Page. Heaps of scans and pictures from TV Week’s old days.

One comment stands out, though…

Home & Away had 20 covers in 2020, plus another five of ex cast members!?! I can imagine who most of those five were of
