TV Week

I’m sure it was mentioned in the ratings threads last week, after one of the hyped up episodes. Either way, the show has had long running success and has been rating above that soap opera that gets more than its fair share of covers.

Wikipedia says around 800k-900k viewers. Not enough to be “record-breaking”…

A couple of weeks ago Survivor recorded its highest overnight rating for a regular episode of 10s version of the franchise with 819,000. With the addition of viewing across the next 7 days it rated 1,063,000. It certainly rates better than most shows that make the TV Week cover.

Next Close Up issue is out.

I don’t know if they ever did a TV Week cover shot like this, with whole family, during the whole run of Packed to the Rafters.

Another dodgy headline there with “Danni Monogue’s big return to acting”.

In the interview she says she’d like to return to acting and there’s an upcoming show she’s heard about and is interested in appearing in. A far cry from her actually doing any of it.

TV Week this week has a special flip back cover with an 8 page promotion for Acorn TV.

It says you can sign up for a free trial at: acorn.tv/tvweek but the link does not seem to work.

ETA: There is a link there though under Shop to Free Trial Signup.

The Block contestants are on the cover this week, along with actress Abbie Cornish who stars in Secret Bridesmaids Business.

This The Block cover is almost indistinguishable from The Block cover a few weeks ago. They certainly lack ideas at that magazine these days

I was thinking that they might be smart enough to capitalise on the success of The Masked Singer and have that show dominating this week’s cover…but no.

It’s Home and Away with The Masked Singer seen in one of the smaller photos even though its byline is “The Show Everyone Is Talking About”. Another fail for TV Week.

The Bachelorette’s Angie Kent has the cover this week.

TV Week has re-hashed this piece of Neighbours history that never happened in this month’s TV Week Close Up

I don’t know how that moment from Home and Away makes it onto the cover of TV’s Biggest Moments but anyway…

This week they have outdone themselves for shonkiest cover story ever.

McLEOD’S REUNION CONFIRMED!
EXCLUSIVE: Why Bridie Carter and the cast couldn’t say no

Then when you read the article:

TV Week should be charged with false advertising. :stuck_out_tongue: This is why the magazine’s reputation has dropped so low. They’re becoming as bad as the women’s magazines who make up stories every week.

The click bait headlines are the worst.

Nine is claiming it’s the first time they have got together since filming ceased.

But there was a reunion show in Leeton last year.

Well, it must be the third (at least) because TV Tonight did a story on a reunion in Gungellan Hall, SA in 2017.
