Two ideas for TV show in the infotainment genre, both hospitality themed.
Idea 1: At Your Service - a program that showcases different businesses in the hospitality and tourism sectors. If produced by Seven, could be a program to compliment the Weekender programs. It could show places around the state borders - either state based or nationally produced. It would be a half hour program possibly screening at 7pm Saturday and encored around lunchtime Sunday. Moves to 7Two in AFL states during the AFL season
Idea 2 - Based on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives - three segments, first segment -introducing the business, the location and brief history as well as a chat with the owner or manager. Second segment - preparation of a signature dish/ managers favourite, third segment - consuming the dish and a final chat/summary
I didnât allocate a title for idea 2 as I thought it didnât specifically have to be just diners/restaurants. The concept could be extended to wineries, breweries and other drink distilleries. If it was just a food show it could be called Off The Plate, but if it was more general possibly called On The Table or Tasty Treats
A new sports show, Rugby Full Time.
With Nine securing the rights to Rugby Union, I think of a new show, Rugby Full Time. This show will be hosted by Danika Mason and will feature two Wallaby greats, George Gregan and Stirling Mortlock. This new show will be presented from the North Sydney studios.
The program will air on Sunday evening on 9Gem and will run for 60 minutes (including commercials)
The show will be broken down into 4 segments.
1st segment - Recap of Rugby matches from yesterday (including super rugby (Australia + Aotearoa), Super W, Mitre 10 and Rugby Championship matches)
2nd segment - The presenters will talk about the news and injuries of the rugby players.
3rd segment - They will do a debate on various topics. Each presenter will take turns to talk.
4th segment - Play of the Week. Viewers would vote which Rugby Highlight is the best for the week.
I have an idea for a new reality program. It would be called Cricket Camp. This could be screened over 6 weeks with the finale being a 20twenty game against veterans of the game and broadcast live. It would start out with 36 contenders with one candidate eliminated each night.
The gate takings could be donated to charity. The prize money could be $120,000 for the winning side, $60,000 for the losing side and a $20,000 player if the match prize - half of which must be donated to a charity nominated by the team which the player is in eg veterans or the amateurs
Not really if he bowls really hard at them and the ball hits these celebrities in some awkward places!
Iâm not forcing them to do anything, it was just a suggestion. It would just be a 3-4 minute news update to update viewers on the latest news (especially if there are bushfires like last summer), and would be presented out of the Sydney studios, if not by the Sydney 6pm presenter then anyone who is available in the newsroom.
Have to agree, although Iâd hope Seven would put a bit of effort into their cricket coverage.
What if they had alternating segments through the cricket break. If you got a corporate sponsor such as KFC or Nestle, you could say on Saturday or Sunday have a cricket tip and run competition. Showing highlights of this competition to keep the kids entertained. They could even set it up like a baseball diamond. Each child that gets home (across all 4 bases gets a $20 gift card. They could run it across 20 minutes at lunchtime and must be registered by parents upon entry. I would make it 5 to 12 year olds can only enter to manage participants better.
I have an idea for a new AFL show for Channel Seven.
I would call it The Offseason - it would provide viewers of all the AFL news during the offseason plus player profiles. It would also feature AFLW news and interviews. It would be a 1 hour format
If my suggestion of moving Home and Away to a 3 night a week enterprise and Better Homes and Gardens to 7pm Thursday, then the 7pm Friday slot would be available.
As if an offseason show about AFL and player profiles would rate in primetime. Perhaps on 7mate it would be ok. But its just not main channel material, even in the summer period.
I think this would be a great show that will air during post-season (October-December). This will focus mostly on AFL trades, free agents, delistings, retirements, coaching changes and the new AFL fixtures. AFter the AFL fixtures have been released (early NOvember), Seven will finalise which games they will televise.
This should air on 7mate at 7:30PM Sunday. I think Luke Darcy, Matt Richardson and Daisy Pearce will be the presenters.
