News Corp has named its top 26 commercials on Australian TV since 2000, with Not Happy Jan (Yellow Pages) at No.1. AAMI’s Rhonda and Ketut was second and Tourism Australia’s So Where the Bloody Hell are You? was third.
Was watching Imparja South yesterday… and happened to notice this ‘AI’ Generated ad for some sort of sale in the outback. The commercial featured 2 Kangaroos boxing in a boxing ring with other Kangaroos watching. It was a weird ad…

After being absent from the Canberra advertising scene for years, it is apparent that Bags to Go have not changed their jingle (“We’re Bags to Go, and we’re priced so low!”) in almost 20 years. I’d assume that they’d change the jingle following the rebrand, but this doesn’t appear to be the case.
I’ve seen a cheap-looking 15-second TVC (currently not online) on WIN a few months ago that used the short version of the jingle, and I’ve heard a few radio ads that use the tail end of the jingle. A few days ago it was even blasting out of the South Point shopping mall!
Ad prices must be at an all time low considering what I’m seeing on Seven Melbourne.
Seeing more ‘local’ ads instead of the usual nationals which seems odd, haven’t seen an ad promoting local businesses for years, there’s even one promoting an advertising agency!
