The second day of the three-way reality battle saw Seven again the number one network, four ahead of Nine.

Farmer Wants a Wife ranked sixth overall and was the top entertainment show for the day despite losing 80,000 from Monday’s launch episode. I’m A Celebrity ranked second last night beating out LEGO Masters after increasing its Monday audience while the LEGO builders lost 65,000. The 435,000 rating is the lowest ever recorded for that franchise.

We will have to wait to see what BVOD and catch-up does to these comparisons. So far I’m A Celebrity leads the live BVOD viewing ahead of LEGO then Farmer.

I’m a Celebrity was the top reality show in all key demos. In 25-54 LEGO Maters ranked 65th while the Farmers were 9th. Great Australian Stuff was 18th. For the night, Nine won the key demos with 10 second.

Earlier in the evening Seven News dominated the 6pm time slot winning all markets but by 7pm Nine was on top thanks to A Current Affair. Home and Away though did well to top 500k.

ABC had one of its better Tuesdays with the debut of Great Australian Stuff that slotted just below the reality shows while The Secret Life of Birds that followed also did well to beat out the commercial competition.

Post reality Frozen Planet II managed 282,000 in its later timeslot, down 120k from the debut episode. The new timeslot for We Interrupt This Broadcast didn’t help the struggling program.

Interesting none of the entertainment offerings have on 7 and 9 featuring in the top 5 of the demos. Looks like lots of old people and regionals would be watching the woeful Farmer show and the novelty seems to have worn off Lego.

Maybe there is a valid reason that this is a non-ratings period. I would have expected Celeb to be doing a bit better and same for Lego Masters. School holidays and people taking more time off work? Or none of the realities cutting it?

We are only seeing linear numbers right now. There would be plenty of people without aerials watching Live BVOD as well as time shifting.

Linear seems to be dropping more and more than ever before.

But these ratings are on par with everything else all year round. Non ratings is just outdated.
People stream now.
Ive fallen 2 episodes behind on celeb and there’s no way I’ll watch on catch up with all those commercials, so i will wait till Friday when they are all on paramount.

Remember also Sundays used to be the biggest night of TV and even that is long gone. Habits in general have changed.

Is there a reason that they don’t include the live streaming numbers in overnights? Given these are overnight figures, you would think that data would be easily available. I guess it’s dependent on the networks providing those figures?

Not sure, but I do beleive they are coming soon in daily number. Maybe later this year I read somewhere.

Definitely coming soon. As mentioned above I’m A Celebrity has the largest live audience of the realities so far and last night had it biggest live stream audience since launch.

I’ve usually watched Lego Masters but turned off by this season being “grander and bigger than ever”. Lego Masters is becoming like the Block - each season they have to make the builds bigger, harder, and more unrealistic for normal people. Returning players doesn’t help either.

Lego Masters: MAFS vs Block Stars. Now that will get the 900k+ viewers tuning in for Nine. They may as well as milk the MAFS franchise while they can. Lol
