Triple M Network

It is my delight to inform you that their backup CD kicked in after 7pm tonight. Got one and a half songs* through before Zetta was rebooted. Now back to regular overflogged Australian Crawl and RHCP.

*Foo Fighters - “My Hero” and Placebo - “Loud Like Love” for those playing along at home

Just heard a 105.1 Triple M ID on FM in Sydney

Another glitch

Just heard 10 seconds of silence, followed by a couple of beeps and then what must be the start of their back up tape with this message:

“Uh Oh, someone’s pulled the cord out of the Triple M transmitter! … Wait, we’re back!”…

Then into Paul Kelly’s “Darling It Hurts”, though the audio level was a bit lower than normal.

That only appeared to have lasted one song, the regular “Triple M, Now Playing Rock’s Greatest Hits” sweeper played, and then into a song that had normal audio levels again.

Interesting development at Triple M Melbourne’s Hot Breakfast, according to Radioinfo.

Following Eddie McGuire’s latest faux pas that saw him dump himself from the Fox Sports AFL commentary team for one match, SCA management have sent him packing permanently and installed Nova’s Ryan Fitzgerald of Fitzy & Wippa fame in his place.

Then again, given what day it is today…

My thoughts exactly.

I want Justice aka Compensation for Losing Modern Digital, it was a Great Station to listen to until 80’s Music Wrecked the Momentum.

This story was updated to confirm it was an April Fools Day prank.

If you send them a stamped, self-addressed envelope they’ll give you a refund of all monies paid for Modern Digital.

You complained a lot about losing Classic Rock Radio on 1377 months ago and now you’re lamenting the loss of Triple M Modern Digital.
I suggest you just listen to normal Triple M, they seem to play a mix of both genres anyway.

Listening to normal Triple M is NEVER an option due to the endless talk, sport and advertising.

In some timeslots, Triple M is still a good listen.

Weekdays between breakfast & drive , and Sun to Wed evenings is still good. And better again in summer too when there’s more music instead of football.

I’m listening to Triple M a lot more than I have been in the past few years at the expense of Smooth FM. The Moonman breakfast show in Sydney and Kennedy Molloy are both very entertaining shows and I make a point of listening to the podcasts on my evening walk or when I go to bed.

If you want non-stop music then FM radio in 2019 is probably not your thing.

The world has moved on and Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, etc are where people go for music now. At least FM radio is being innovative and providing alternative programming to attract listeners who don’t just want music and Triple M does it well with a mix of comedy, sport and talk programs mixed in with their music.

Radio was never about non-stop music. It’s always had to pay it’s way and it always featured chat and adverts.

I do prefer music on the radio compared to Spotify as a music based program hosted by intelligent announcers blended with news and weather updates is overall a more enjoyable listening exoerience. Also that local radio plays more Aussie music than what you’d get online.

Heard a promo for that yesterday. Sounds ridiculous.

Who is hosting it? They were using Robbie McGregor’s famous voice over in the promo.

Richard Mercer

In all seriousness, it is a possibility. He was on love song dedications which may meet the ‘love god’ criteria.

So this is real and was not an April Fools thing?
