Rebel FM is doing now what the then EON FM did in the 80s as described by @Timeplayer and many other correspondents to Media Spy.
Couldnât agree more, On Monday, i heard the same songs that arenât even close to Triple M adjacent artists that consist of Pharrell Williamsâ âHappy,â Whitney Houstonâs âI Wanna dance with somebody,â just to name a few. I would probably consider the regionalâs playlist as âcross contaminationâ of the music played of the artists you would hear on HIT/HEART Networks on Triple M.
Neither of those artists play on Hit in regular rotation.
But agree that playlist is a mess - beats me why they donât take a metro log now theyâve softened up.
The retro Triple M merch looks so out of place.
Youâve got Triple M announcers flaunting the apparel with the red and blue colours, behind the current orange and yellow Triple M logo.
What a mish-mash mess. It wouldâve been better spent either A) Launch apparel with the current logo (incl. Dr Dan); or B) Relaunch the Triple M logo going back to its retro roots.
It just looks weird & confusing to the public who arenât aware that this is âretroâ apparel seeing two logo.
Itâs from Uncle Reco who create vintage apparel for brands, that is why plus vintage shirts are seen as cool or nostalgic.
Triple M Brisbane 104.5 making several mentions of Heart on LiSTNR this afternoon
Just the place to target the female audience Heart is looking for, Triple M
The entire Triple M network has been plugging Heart since launch. Especially on the regionals after each weather spot. Nothing new.
why would we want hip hop and rand b on a rock station if u want that listen to hit ffs
Weird that itâs Triple M plugging it rather than Hit
Hit are plugging it.

From Triple M Central Coast 107.7 Breakfast show, Paddy & Maz are bringing feel-good radio to a national audience. Honest, warm and slightly unpredictable, Paddy has more than 20 years of local radio experience, while Maz made a return to radio in 2020 after time away from the mic.

Jean, a former lawyer chasing her radio dream; Tim is a prolific audio producer with years working behind the scenes in radio; and âPepâ is an everyday Aussie â a car salesman from St Albans who impressed Triple M with natural storytelling and self-deprecating humour. Selected individually and paired by the network, this trio promises curious, energetic and unpredictable Breakfast radio.
- Friday â The Tag Team: Shaun Malseed, Hunter Smith & Harry Lloyd
Originating on Melbourneâs JOY FM, The Tag Team return to radio in a big way. With backgrounds in production, creative writing, television, and film, this trio tackle the biggest trends and stories with sharp humour and a fresh perspective, bringing an incredibly unique show to Triple M.

Sketch comedy creators Max, Troy, and Tom bring their trademark irreverence and wit to the Triple M lineup. Tackling topics that donât matter while attempting to solve problems that arenât really problems, Yeah Good offers listeners a light-hearted escape to kick-start the weekend.
These six shows were selected from Triple Mâs Top 10 finalists, by a panel of respected Content Directors around the country, each bringing years of experience. Other standout entries included Eliza and Liberty Paschke, Fergus Neal and Louis Phillips, Isaac Smith and Elliot Garnaut, and Steph de Sousa and Emily Tresidder. All ten shows collaborated with Triple M content directors and senior producers to develop and record their pilots, honing their craft while showcasing their chemistry, storytelling, and alignment with Triple Mâs entertaining content.
Triple M â Australiaâs #1 radio network for Men 25â54 for 23 consecutive national surveys â has a long history of discovering and developing new talent. Pilot Week continues that legacy, following the breakout success of Lu & Jarch and reinforcing the networkâs commitment to discover and back fresh storytelling, personality-led content, and Australian creators from all walks of life.
Matthew OâReilly, SCA Head of Broadcast Content, said: âPilot Week has already been a huge success, offering a unique opportunity to discover fresh talent, with an incredible array of talent putting their hand up for a Triple M first. We were impressed by the diversity of applications, from everyday Aussies to internet favourites and experienced broadcasters, all with unique stories and ideas.
âWhile we initially intended to select five breakfast shows, the quality of the submissions was simply too strong to pass up the opportunity to showcase another great show. Weâre excited for listeners to hear six very different Breakfast shows next week, each bringing their own personality, chemistry, and style, to Triple M.â
The six Pilot Week shows will air nationally across Triple Mâs metro markets from 6am to 8am, and will be available to stream on LiSTNR, beginning Monday, 15 December.
I donât understand why there is so much attention with the Triple M stations doing the Pilot Breakfast Shows later this month.
Big deal. Who cares? So what?
2DayFM have been doing Pilot Breakfast Shows every year for over a decade. Triple M simply ripped off the idea and are now getting all the accolades.
Move on everyone.
Very strange to have former Hit breakfast and drive star Maz Compton in the mix. Sure she isnât the most notable personality these days, but is well known for Dan and Maz at least in my age demographic.
This was when there was less competition from streaming services and podcasting. I believe SCA had only recently established PodcastOne or was about to at the time, Apple Music I donât think had started etc. Radio was at least a lot larger albeit in decline.
A bit ridiculous that today she is seen as just good enough for âpilot weekâ despite remaining with SCA the whole time. Although itâs not like she hasnât willingly participated in it.
Making a move on the old 97.3FM listeners. Clever.
Believe it or not, 4MMM played the (very) occasional Madonna song back in the mid to late 80s when they were FM104. They were very selective though with which tracks they played, I recall hearing Live To Tell and True Blue. They were a rarity though on 104.5
97.3 has hit the iceberg then. Let the sink begin
I think I recall you saying they used to play âLike A Prayerâ as well then too?
