Not sure, I haven’t listened closely enough during the day.

In Sydney it’s Josh Olek so wouldn’t be surprised if it’s him.

They’ve certainly looked after Troy Ellis since Marty Sheargold got the boot. He’s appeared as a floater nationally, regionally and on 2MMM and 3MMM. Hope he stays on air at the M’s.

He’s probably under contract.

The Source: Dumped radio star Marty Sheargold plots ‘anti-woke’ comeback tour

Now The Source has been told the comedian is planning to do a solo stand-up tour, to be announced in October. We hear it will be unapologetic and an ‘anti-woke tour’.

Since he was sacked from his own show, he hasn’t been heard from or seen publicly.

He wasn’t even mentioned when ABC comedy Fisk – which Sheargold appeared on – won five Logie awards earlier this month.

That’s rubbish. Kitty clearly mentioned Marty amongst cast mates in her thank you speech for Fisk at the Logie Awards.

Also Marty famously hates that term and any anti-woke comics. He may be touring again but it won’t be branded like that. More made up rubbish.

Good to see local content on Triple M Perth. Dani Shuey should permanently join the team when Lamb returns.

Convert ‘Em to the Ms: Special party celebrates Triple M Sydney’s new brekky lineup

There were laughs, music and mateship yesterday for Beau, Cat & Woodsy’s Convert ’Em to the Ms Party – celebrating Triple M Sydney’s new breakfast lineup with Beau Ryan, Cat Lynch and Aaron ‘Woodsy’ Woods.

According to The Australian’s Media Diary, Triple M bosses are secretly planning to axe Beau Ryan and Aaron Woods and want to replace them with Merrick Watts and Tim Ross (Merrick and Rosso).

Good story. Merrick and Rosso have not been close since Rosso left breakfast at Nova in 2009. Rosso was asked about returning to radio last year and he was not intetested.

(Brought over from the gold thread)

i actully think the music is their strong point. i listen though the day at work and when its just music its pretty good. come 3pm i switch to smooth because the talking heads really annoy me.

if i ran MMM i’d dump sport, talkback and have the talking heads talk less and let the music be the USP

There isn’t any talkback anymore the night shift got canned for repeats.

They aren’t going to dump sport because that’s such a big cash cow that ARN tried to get their hands on it.

The best thing Triple M can do is focus in on being local to whichever city they are broadcasting in, program a relevant playlist for each city and go from there.

When the other stations are networking sun up to sun down be live and local and hopefully that brings the ratings in.

I can’t see the bean counters agreeing with me on this one.

SCA shuts down Merrick and Rosso speculation, backs Beau Ryan

SCA has issued an emphatic statement in support of its Triple M Sydney breakfast show Beau, Cat & Woodsy, following media speculation they could be bumped in favour of radio stalwarts Merrick Watts and Tim Ross.

“Any speculation about changes to the Triple M Sydney Breakfast lineup is categorically false,” SCA said in an exclusive statement to Mumbrella.

The official statement to Mumbrella continued: “Triple M is fully committed to Beau, Cat & Woodsy. SCA has one of the most consistent lineups of live and local breakfast shows across Australia’s metro markets, and the Triple M Network continues to deliver its clients the Audience That Matters – winning Men 25-54 nationally for 20 consecutive surveys.”

“Rosso (Tim Ross, Watts’ former on-air partner) and I have not had a conversation about doing Breakfast on Triple M. That’s not happened,” he said.

“I haven’t spoken to anybody at SCA about that job and the position. If people are talking about me doing something, I can’t help that, but that’s not me in that room. It’s not a conversation. And the funny thing is, like, I’m behind the scenes working so hard on this secret deal.”

The “secret deal” Watts refers to is a new partnership between his revolutionary drink brand, Posca Hydrate, and SPC Global. Not bad for a formula first developed in his kitchen during the Covid pandemic.

Experience the spectacle as Foti Fireworks light up the sky from bridges, barges, and rooftops in a dazzling celebration of sound and light. Whether you’re riverside, tuning into Triple M’s live broadcast, or watching the exclusive Channel Nine coverage, Riverfire by Australian Retirement Trust is for everyone.

Triple M Brisbane will be hosting their usual Riverfire live broadcast / fireworks soundtrack simulcast on Saturday night.

Although there is no clashes of Brisbane teams playing this year at the same time (unlike last year), it will be interesting to see how much pre-show lead-up they give the event this year. And if they are move the NRL game coverage of the Titans onto DAB+, or not air it at all.

IIRC they ran a separate FM feed to the Riverfire til about 3.30pm last year.
With entertainment not due until 4.50pm, they may take FM feed for NRL & DAB+/on-location speakers for Riverfire feed
