Triple M Network

Triple M Melbourne is welcoming home its favourite son, Mick Molloy, who is returning to his hometown with a brand-new breakfast show.

Joining Mick on the new show, in what is set to be a larger-than-life, fiercely local breakfast extravaganza is AFL great Nick Riewoldt, making his daily breakfast radio debut, along with Titus O’Reily, Mick’s long-term collaborator, including as co-host of LiSTNR’s successful podcast Bizarre with Mick Molloy and Titus O’Reily, and star of Triple M Workdays and The Hot Breakfast Rosie Walton.

The brand-new breakfast show, Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie, continues Triple M’s strong local focus on Breakfast, and is sure to shake up the Melbourne radio scene when it launches on Monday 20 January 2025.

Do they really need four personalities? Seems like one too many… I feel like two or three is the right number for FM breakfast radio.

Even though Rosie is in the name, she’s mainly just the anchor.

Same as Marty has. Loren/Will/Troy.

Excellent news, there is a lot of promise for this team to be successful.

Hopefully Nick Riewoldt will also join Triple M Footy, maybe on Friday nights (like Luke Darcy did when he was on Hot Breakfast).

Thought Daisy might have got a run, hopefully they find something for him

Huge role for Titus O’Reily. In the past he had appeared from time to time on different radio stations, but from next year he can only be heard on one station (plus the podcast he currently hosts with Mick Molloy). I hope he will still be able to appear on other TV shows.

I’m a huge Titus O’Reily fan. I’ve read most his books too. The funny thing is, I recall he had a good satirical dig at Triple M in his first or second book that came out 7-8 years ago and now he’s got a full time gig there!

Sounds interesting. Were they on air this morning? I listened briefly and I thought Wil had a cold but I assume it may have been some/all of the new team.

Did Molloy ever move to Sydney? Always got the feeling he would fly up every now and again, but was largely broadcasting out of Melbourne with Geyer also broadcasting from home.

Correct he never moved

Looking forward to Nick and Titus on Triple M but as a Perth guy we have a localised breakfast radio show on our own Triple M station.

Mediaweek speculating Matthew Johns could return to Triple M Sydney. Doubt it, this story seems to get an airing every time there is a vacancy or ratings nosedive.

Looks like Triple M may have dodged a bullet by accepting Wendall Sailor’s immediate resignation in July.

I listened to a few podcasts (before and after the announcement) - the whole thing just felt chaotic and messy.

I know its a bit of a joke that Billy is a bit hopeless, but I can see why you said its worse.

Somewhat related, I’ve noticed that Brownless is a very different prospect when JB isn’t there - not necessarily better (I think there’s something about the JB/Billy relationship that just works), but its certainly not worse.

Loren is taking some days off from Marty’s show, I suspect we may see her do a summer breakfast on one of the networks.

On Triple M cricket yesterday Greg Blewitt noted in the coverage he is recently unemployed,
Mark Howsrd who as play by play at the time seemed shocked asking “wasn’t it #1?”
Blewitt replied “yeah but there is significant cost cutting apparently so we were hauled into the office and were told there was no job for us in 2025”
Howie then asked “ who is replacing you”
With Blewitt’s response “Melbourne are doing Hobart, Adelaide and Perth”
Then there was a bit of a jab at JB who I’m assuming was in the box before they went to a break and upon return to the coverage Howie said”management have told us to quash that conversation.

Surprised they posted that.

Brendan Annakin is departing Triple M.

Looking at the comments I’m unsure if he got a say in the matter.
