Triple M Network

Plenty of people according to the Nova Drive ratings when he was with Kate, Tim and Marty.

Were they listening for him? Or Kate and Tim? Different target audience too. Different station altogether.

Well if they didn’t like him I’m sure they wouldn’t have been listening?

Interesting podcast from Marty Sheargold today. He made it clear the new show will only be live between 3pm and 5pm next year with the 5pm to 6pm hour to be a mix of highlights from the first hour, plus more music.

Also in typical Marty fashion he made it clear the reason why the last hour is not live is because SCA wouldn’t pay him enough……

This is exactly what Carrie and Tommy do. Live from 3-5pm and repeats of the show from 5-6pm.

Knew this was coming.

Hate to say I told you so.

And fair enough too. Working that late in the day live on FM radio is not what the big talent are willing to do anymore.

Maybe Marty would for the right dollars but clearly when this is a cost cutting exercise by SCA that money doesn’t exist.

Me. I listen to the podcast everyday and very often on the drive home.

I’m assuming they’ll keep Dobbo on with his NRL roles, perhaps back to the 1 hour rush hour show at 6. He’s also doing Rural Queensland today for the resonate stations, 9 News and making a bit of cash of his cattle.

Liam Flanagan is highly regarded at SCA especially calling AFL so interesting to see if they retain him.

Are SCA keeping The Rush Hour in northern QLD/regional QLD markets?

And let’s not forget, prior to these state based Rush Hours, Triple M always had 1x national drive show (eg Merrick & the Highway Patrol, Roy & HG, etc).

No. Only Rush Hour remaining is JB and Billy. Marty is on all the regionals etc outside the AFL markets.

Nothing to do with the commute home.

No, it’s gone too. While one of them is on maternity leave as well

I agree with Dr Ashley Jones from University of Southern Queensland. Not every show has to be syndicated. Rush Hour stood out as it was one of the very few drive shows on commercial radio with local presenters.

Wondering will regional WA keep the drive with Cliff Reeves?

Today was the last local Rush Hour for Adelaide - the final show got a mention on the Ray of Sunshine segment at the end of 7News Adelaide.

Take it they’re just going to music without a set program when the Cricket isn’t on until January next year?

Confirmed. Mick Molloy to host Melbourne breakfast in 2025 with Nick Riewoldt, Titus O’Reilly and Rosie Walton.

I wonder what this means for Sydney breakfast.

New Sydney team to be announced soon.

Sydney is a dumpster fire, new line-up looks solid for Melbourne. MMM Melbourne has a great schedule next year.
