Triple M Network

Yeah its awesome, I suspect at some point SCA will pull the plug on it due to the cost of having all that talent, doing a podcast…

I kind of think they could use a DAB channel to actually put the pod on radio…with lots of bleeps…

Either way, its a go to for me, daily…great stuff.

Rush Hour should be an hour and push Marty to 4-6 or 3-5

They would be mad to do that, the Rush Hour’s ratings have gone from strength to strength this year.

Marty probably prefers the current arrangement where he can pre-record content earlier in the week if his show is just going to be an hour, as opposed to having to come into the studio every day.

Marty is very strong 3-4 too. Why not expand one and have two 2-hour shows back to back? 3-5 and 5-7.

I agree, both shows are strong and could be 2 hours, though I’d look at a 2-4 and 4-6 split.

The only thing I wondered is given Marty supposedly left Breakfast from being exhausted, needing a better work/life balance etc., then perhaps he prefers the lifestyle with his current circumstances which is less of a time commitment.

I feel like that wasn’t exactly the truth, but he already pre-recs the show as is, no stopping them pre-recording two hours and doing less podcast material which already is about an extra hour of content. Not being live has made him more loose if anything.

The podcast has a very different sound to the full show dump of the Triple M content. They take their time during their podcast (especially during On This Day) often googling answers to questions and happily going off topic.

Then you get to the full show dump and it’s tight and snappy. They regularly even joke and say “we don’t have time for this”.

I’m getting to the point where I prefer the podcast content!

Shaan also leaving and Leachy moving up from mornings to anchor breakfast.

Suspect we’re looking at uniform 10am-3pm workday shifts for SCA in 2025.

Just thinking too, with all the cost cutting going on at SCA, can they really afford to have three major shows in 2025 (Breakfast, Marty and Rush Hour)?

I might be wrong but was it not implied that Marty is just doing 3pm for the rest of the year to see out his contract then will go?

Has/can anyone find mention where Triple M Perth’s Embers & Michelle have ended up?

Have they departed the network?

It’s odd the media releases have made no mention of them. Not even a thank you.

Xav has had more co presenters then I’ve Christmas dinners. Not sure if you would want to work with him!!
With so many leaving:rofl::rofl:

NewFM’s Krivo and 2CA’s Paul Holmes would have to come close too.

They probably got sick of him wearing the same shirt?

Melbourne Radio Ward is suggesting MMM is talking to Jonesy and Amanda about coming to MMM to do breakfast and potentially across both Sydney and Melbourne. As they anticipate O’Connell being networked to WSFM.

A lot of assumptions in that theory…. Would be bold of ARN to network another breakfast show given the trouble they are in over Kyle.

Axing such a successful show like Jonesy and Amanda would be a massive call, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was something in their contracts to prevent them immediately moving to SCA.

Would ARN really want to give away another beloved breakfast team to a rival station similar to what they did with Jase and Lauren???

I highly doubt any truth to that rumour. Why would J&A and ARN risk any change in such a competitive Sydney breakfast radio environment.

If it does become a reality, it’d be due to the high amount ARN have to spend on K&J, with not enough love to share to WSFM talent.

Networking breakfast is inevitable now, regardless of whether K&J is successful or not.

That’s unfortunately true.

It’ll likely be ARN networking more metro brekkie shows before any other network.

Why have “Hour of Powers” in the evening, when the nationally appealing content can go to air live 6-9am?

Because neither show are nationally appealing.

Everyone keeps saying this yet I really don’t think it makes sense.

Ratings are still so strong and yes there’s a dip in the ad market right now but it may correct itself.

They may just need to rein in salaries rather than networking everything and pushing people away from radio.
