I like the occasional back announce because it gives the impression of some level of engagement between the announcer and the music, it can also give the feeling like it’s not voice tracked too
The announcer is the key differentiator against streaming - too many stations make it easy to go to streaming by not having announcers who can have some engagement

Awesome. If only radio sounded like this again. Its quiet simple really. It would be cheaper than paying overpriced unfunny comedians and former reality TV contestants.

Mick Molloy has told Herald Sun that parenthood and a plan to expand The Front Bar TV show (which is made by his company Front Bar Entertainment for Seven) played a major part in his decision to leave MMM after 11 years.
Eleven years is longer than I’ve stayed anywhere at anytime… There’s just a point when you know. You get up, you go to work, and you think I’m not as fired up about it as I used to be.
It’s a big decision and not one I took lightly. But I thought it was time to do something else, and take on some new challenges.

Not sure yet given there’s still been no announcement if Westo is the permanent afternoon announcer it wouldn’t surprise me if they delayed the announcement of Jenna’s replacement.
