At least the giraffe is less scary than the smooth mascot. Screen Shot 2020-03-04 at 2.33.51 pm

I’d probably associate a giraffe more with Life Education than Triple M myself!

I’m forwarding my therapist’s invoice to you for that

I’m surprised they didn’t go with “It’s A Long Way To The Top” for the giraffe in that promo.

And it’s the Triple J listeners that really need assistance from Life Education.

Giraffes remind me of Toys R Us. Triple M is more like “Rock is Us”

Which makes me think of companies trading whilst insolvent…maybe a subconscious thing from the ad agency.

Alternatively, add a few more animals (including Barry) and the Hot Breakfast becomes the Triple M Zoo. In which case Richard Stubbs might have some jingles that could be reworked.

So this is the proper animal version of Happy Healthy Harold…

I like Lawrence Mooney but Triple M’s Sydney days have long gone. The focus on talk, sport and music is confusing. Choose one. FM radio was made for music. Be the smooth of rock music. One singular focus. It would work for 20 year olds and 60 years olds.

The giraffe dancing in a 1970s apartment can only be described vas a bad trip on some Nimbin LSD.

I completely agree. Focus on the music. They can appeal to all ages if they took the Absolute radio approach. Absolute have a stream for each decade from the 60s right through to the 20s which they launched recently to focus on new rock. They keep it classy and credible while Triple M always dives to the lowest common denominator, every time.

I am old enough to remember when MMM meant rock music.

Today it means talk and sport in crystal clear FM stereo. Everybody whisper “Triple M - Triple Your Sport, Talk and Comedy”

Nup.

Sunday Herald Sun reports Billy Brownless has re-signed with Triple M for three more years, meaning there will be more of Rush Hour with him and James Brayshaw.

Luke bona overnight is a joke I don’t get why old jocks like him other than thinking there’s potential for them to get similar gigs. It’s the laziest talkback I’ve ever heard.

Its also delivering fodder for other shows on the same network

Surely it’d be cheaper to run overnight music, even if automated?

Why not offer insomniacs and shift workers some companionship and a sense of community through long, lonely nights by offering a talkback show peppered with music?

There are plenty of alternatives for people who just want to listen to music.

I would like to see the Triple M network bring back Red Eye Radio or The Big Rig Gig.
Where truck drivers and night shift worker can ring up and request songs and keep people updated what’s going on the road, while the announcer keeps everyone up dated what’s going on around Australia.
When I used to do night shift these shows were fun and made the night go a lot faster.

I can remember the big rig gig on B104.9 Albury and on relay between Sydney along the Hume.

When I am up late or up early I don’t mind listening to the all night Bona.

On another note Triple M seems to have dropped My Generation aswell as The Range with Lee K.? Still on the website but haven’t heard it all year?
