The way voters are complaining it’s probably going to be the benchmark for other cities rather than the anchor around Sydney.
Our family have had a week exploring parts of NSW and ACT which has been fun but thanks to the train strike that was going to happen (it got called off 20 minutes after we booked the hire car for 1 more day) it meant that I’ve had to learn how to drive in Sydney. As someone who has only driven on the mainland from Brisbane Airport to Australia Zoo and back again, this has been an eye opener but we’ve all survived.
This is a basic map of where we’ve gone, there was quite a bit more around the ACT area with 3 days down there.
Wait until you go to a left hand drive country. That is next level stuff!
But it sounds like you are having a great trip in the best state in Oz Enjoy
I’d just like to be able to go to more places from Newcastle Airport. I only travel to Brisbane or Melbourne from there. Anywhere else it’s easier to go from Sydney
And part of that is also because Williamtown airport is 45 mins from me, and parking isn’t cheap there either. Or a $90 cab fare each way, only public transport there i think the bus from the Newcastle Interchange.
Yeah pretty much
So my trip involving a lot of relying on flights being on time has gone to script so far, the next part worries me a little, not so much flying to Singapore (it’s only a 5 hour flight from Perth), but transiting to try to make the bus to Kuala Lumpur at Lavender MRT Station about 2.5 hours after landing. I have booked a 2nd bus just in case but it’s not as good as the earlier trip. I just hope customs in Singapore is as efficient as ever, and once I’m onboard the bus any worries will be done and dusted.
What do London, Amsterdam, Paris and Athens all have in common? Not a whole lot... except you can now fly there on the cheap as part of Qatar Airways' Black Friday sale ✈️ DETAILS ▶️ https://t.co/l7kMwTvIO2 pic.twitter.com/mSKBlVEo0r

If an aircraft tries to land with a full tank of fuel for an emergency landing it could damage the aircraft and cause injuries to passengers . ,so they need to dump fuel.
I’ve watched enough ‘Mayday’ episodes so I know stuff like this.
The orange jackets are hideous.
It’s a shame I still don’t have my passport then🙁I need to get it soon
The decision will allow the airlines to sell 28 weekly return flights between Doha and key Australian cities: Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. The new services are set to begin in June 2025.
This interim approval provides the airlines with the necessary time to undertake planning, marketing, and system alignments in preparation for the new routes. However, the ACCC has emphasised that final regulatory approval is still pending, and the services are subject to further scrutiny by the ACCC and other relevant government bodies.
A draft determination is expected by February 2025.
