Great to see Top Gear Australia back. The first two episodes were great and extremely high production values with the challenges producing great visuals and some very funny moments. This presenting trio seemed to work better than the previous seasons on SBS and Nine from what I can remember.
I was slightly shocked at the poor driving techniques on display especially Moog and Johnathan but wasn’t surprised at the consequences. As well as the crash there seemed to be a lot of near misses.
I feel as though this season’s casting is more like the most recent UK casting, rather than the “big names and macho men” choices in previous iterations.
Is this the type of show that viewers want to binge? I wouldn’t really sit there to watch back-to-back episodes, and I’m right in their target audience for this show.
The advantage of stretching out the dates the episodes are released is that they can have publicity for the show more than once.
Drop them all on one day and you’re likely to get one story about the show in the media. Drip feed and you could have stories written across the run of the show.
