Hopefully they will show live events considering it is only a single FTA channel? Not too many replays or talk
The afternoon main channel coverage window should be longer - donât know why the 11:30am and 4pm news bulletins canât be pre-empted during the Paralympics
During the Tokyo Games, which ran July 23-Aug. 8, YouTube viewers watched more than 200 million hours of Olympics-related content (including historical footage of past Olympic Games). According to the video platform, thatâs seven times the amount of hours of Olympic Games content YouTube visitors watched during Rio 2016.
In addition, YouTube said, Olympics content was viewed more than 190 million times per day during Tokyo, five times more than the average daily views during Rio five years ago. Some 5,000 hours of Olympics content were uploaded to YouTube from broadcasters around the world, including livestreams of opening and closing ceremonies, clips of memorable moments and highlights across the 33 Olympic sports.
God that Twitter account is full of shit.
Seven putting everything into #Paralympics
Yeah, on one FTA channel.
Everything is live streamed on 7+ with 16 streams
They might want to be ready to wipe this article if Nine wins the rights. You already know anything that doesnât get airtime on FTA is going to Stan Sport.
they better not! Whatâs the chances they are going to say when the next one fails they are done with the Olympics.
What the point of this link if you canât open it?
it worked for me by copying the headline as soon as you enter the link.
Andrew Hornery reported in his SMH gossip column today about rumours Hamish McLachlan and Abbey Gelmi didnât get along and that âtempers had flaredâ last Monday at Seven because McLachlan âwas incensedâ by criticism of his performance in the hosting role in a report in the Sunday Telegraph. Apparently lawyers were called in and News Corp had to take down the online version of the story.
I hope McLachlan didnât read the savage comments on Twitter about his hosting and poor rapport with Gelmi. Hopefully Seven leave him on the AFL in 2024. Matt White or Shirvo for the Paris Olympics please Seven.
It was bound to happen. In 1996, 7 paid for exclusive rights to broadcast every Olympics up to Beijing 2008.
Swimming finals for 2032 will most likely be in primetime but NBC owns the rights to every Olympics up to and including 2032.
Heâs so glassed jaw. He got savaged but all and sundry after his pathetic hosting.
Having read the article, I can say youâre not missing out on anything - itâs just speculation with no real foundational basis behind it.
IF true, good grief - thatâs one heck of a temper tantrum by McLachlan. If he canât cop being criticised in a newspaper article, he frankly isnât cut up to be working in the TV industry.
About the bolded bit, the Cash Cow has more chemistry with the Sunrise team than McLachlan and Gelmi did. It was often brutal to watch - especially in comparison to Joanna Griggs & Luke Darcy who gelled really well together and quickly established an excellent rapport. Didnât help that McLachlan seemed to got 80% of the airtime whereas you barely heard from Gelmi.
While to some extent I agree, at the same time Annette Sharp is a âjournalistâ who deserves more defamation lawsuits from the subjects she writes about.
I reckon it may not given it didnât occur in Sydney and NBC had the rights then. The swimming finals being shifted only happened in Beijing and Tokyo.
Given swimming is the number 1 sport for Australia at the games the IOC may overlook shifting that and may. Move something like the gymnastics finals and Basketball finals to day time here so it aligns with prime time over there.
Sounds like heâs a pretty bitter personality which matches his presentation. He needs to get lost from the Olympics. Just a woeful person all-round. If it wasnât for Gillonâs influence on the AFL then no one would want him.
Surely youâre not discounting the apparent presence of Ms Johanna Griggs
The doyenne.
He doesnât even need to jump on Twitter. Weâve got enough on this thread from the Rio, Tokyo and AFL threads which will probably be enough to burst his over inflated ego.
