Who will be filling in over the summer months this year?
I was thinking maybe Charles Croucher and Lara Vella. I think last year was Tom Steinfort and Lara.

Iām thinking maybe David Campbell or Alex Cullen and Sylvia or Lara on weekdays. Charles Croucher and Belinda Russell or Jayne Azzopardi for weekends.
Just hope they donāt ever think about putting Richard Wilkins on weekdays. Heās woeful as a host on weekends.

I wish they would use Sylvia or Deb, but doubt it. Lara is way too smug when she fills in.

Interesting to hear. I havenāt seen much of Lara filling in as host but I always thought she did a decent job, unless of course thatās changed recently.
Could Davina Smith be used as a host or news presenter? Lizzie Pearl would probably be involved too.
Friday, 4th December
Karlās last day of Today Show 2020 just before taking his holidays. He acknowledge his colleagues just after 9. Ally, Alex & Brooke still remain next week

No doubt we will see the random host appearances like Jonathan Uptin over the actual Christmas period.
The only markets he appeals to is Darwin and maybe Brisbane.
Would be good to have Deb again. She is actually a good breakfast host. It was mostly Georgie that was bringing her down in the 2019 format.

Iām fine with Jonathan Uptin or Brenton Ragless making the occasional appearance over Christmas. But as I said not Richard Wilkins and certainly not him with one of the male hosts. He is bad enough hosting on weekends and over last Summer with Jonathan (I think it was those two hosting) so hopefully they keep him well away from hosting duties.

I wonder if Tracy Vo might make an appearance?
That probably depends on whether or not the WA/NSW border opens by that time.
Maybe Tim Davies might take some time off weather and be placed into the hosting chair on weekends or maybe even weekdays considering viewers will be familiar with him.
Theyāve got plenty of options to be honest.
For Karl: Alex Cullen, David Campbell, Charles Croucher, Tim Davies and Richard Wilkins - heck I wonder if they could even lure Jim Wilson over for a couple of weeks.
For Ally: Deb Knight, Brooke Boney, Belinda Russell, Leila McKinnon.
For Alex: Lara Vella, Davina Smith, Lara Vella, Tim Davies, Lizzie Pearl.
I would say theyāre going to use Sydney-based people for fill-ins due to the nature of border closures etc.

Yes to Alex. Potentially to Jonathan. No to Brenton (IMO). Iāve never rated him on Today tbh.

Agree, Iāve never really rated him as a presenter at all. Very stale and his voice seems rather fake when presenting the news.

Iād like to see Deb Knight and Alex be the main hosts for summer, with either Lara Vella or Jayne Azzopardi on news. Then around Christmas and early new year Charles Croucher standing in for Alex and Brooke or Bec Maddern for Deb.

According to TVTonight, all of the regular hosts are on holidays until next year:
Today show hosts Karl Stefanovic, Allison Langdon, Alex Cullen, Brooke Boney and Tim Davies signed off this morning, taking a month off air after a very big year in news. They return in January.
