At 8am in Brisbane, Today crosses “live” to Mackay, even though it’s on delay for us (still has “live” onscreen), but the strap at the bottom of the screen says the river is expected to peak at 7am.
Why bother modifying the bottom left of the screen with “Today Queensland” when everything else is just a delayed broadcast from Sydney?
What a mess.
Looks like Karl and Sarah will be at Melbourne Park on Friday. He mentioned it during the show

How is this any different to Sunrise? They aren’t doing their local news inserts anymore and I doubt they’re removing “Live” throws.

Missed opportunity. Could have been at the AO all week.
This happens on every news show broadcast into Queensland (and SA and WA) including The Project, The Latest and all news bulletins. Also, The Morning Show etc.

Sunrise is just as bad with “live” onscreen.
But they haven’t personalised their screen with “Queensland” … and haven’t put a peak flood time on screen that has already passed.
If Today had put “peak at 7am Qld time” it would only just have passed for southern viewers (8am), but obviously still an hour late when Qld viewers see it.

Could also have been live into Qld during floods, then AO.
Today has been live into SA this week, surprised it’s not live into Qld with the AO.

Don’t Sunrise do pre-recorded personalised Queensland intros on the hour? That’s just as deceiving, if not more.
They redo intros to put Queensland stories at the very top. I wouldn’t say its deceiving, just tailored.
And hasn’t happened much at all of late.
News Corp has published a video of Michael Clarke involved in a public verbal ‘altercation’ with Karl on Jan 10 in Noosa, following a disagreement between Clarke and his girlfriend.
Looks messy on Michael Clarke’s part. It doesn’t appear that Karl did anything wrong and there is no suggestion of physical involvement by Karl.
