All the @blackbox aligned Twitter accounts are constantly tweeting “CONFIRMED: Sonia Kruger”. Being a lapsed Catholic all I can think of is that Kruger has been Confirmed into the Catholic Church.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do with Today Extra over Summer.
Usually they’d just show repeats of David, Sonia and Richard hosting but I can’t imagine they’ll continue to show Sonia into the new year.
Perhaps they have a live broadcast up until the Aus Open or scrap it completely and have Today air until 10am and repeats in the Today Extra slot.
So with Georgie confirmed to be returning to the news department, just who will replace Sonia??
Is that confirmed? Didn’t she say, “see you on a tv screen in 2020”? Could that even mean changing networks?
The thing is, I don’t think Georgie would be a good fit for this show.

Sunrise let Georgie go all those years ago because she was a good newsreader but not suited to the direction in which they were about to take the show. Nothing has changed.

This looks like the equivalent of a press release from Nine’s Today show.
Yes she did.
She says she will be returning to her love of News.
Today Extra isn’t news.
Therefore she won’t be the new host of Today Extra.

Annette Sharp in The Sunday Telegraph writes:
So if Seven hasn’t signed Kruger to a contract how can it be confirmed that she signed with Seven on Thursday and that the filming of Big Brother is being delayed until she is free from her any restraint of her Nine contract. Either Seven is lying or some people are making up stories.

I must say I’m surprised it seems they are letting Sonia go to Seven.
The Voice is one of Nine’s most successful shows. And increased their ratings this year. A change of host could ruin that momentum going into next year (particularly if they go with someone that everyone either loves or hates).
And Today Extra is way more staple and consistent than Today and especially Weekend Today over the last five years. Her chemistry with David is one of the best on TV at the moment. I know the show’s ratings are pathetic at the moment and have never really been competitive with The Morning Show, but Sonia is good on that show.
If Sonia doesn’t want to do morning TV 5 days a week then perhaps her and David can do Monday-Wednesday and Dickie and Brooke can hold down the fort on Thursday and Friday.
I agree that they have good chemistry, but I’ve always felt as though Sonia actually has better chemistry with Richard Wilkins. She seems to “lighten up” more whenever she is co-hosting with Dickie, if that makes sense. David Campbell tends to steal the spotlight whenever he is co-hosting and I’ve noticed that Sonia tends to be a bit more reserved when she is with David as a result…I think I watch too much Today Extra…

Yesterday I heard a number of the networks were running advertorials at 11am during the minute of silence for remembrance day.
