Oh, I didn’t have that much to say except I think she is a good choice. She’s done her time on Weekend Today so the transition to the weekday show should be pretty smooth.

Will be fascinating to follow the ratings once the games are over to see how well Today can hold onto this momentum.
I’m assuming Karl and Sarah will be due some holiday time after the games which could hurt the show a bit.

I reckon they should use other talent they have in Paris, like Alex, Clint or Roz Kelly, to do Today in Paris next weekend, so Karl and Sarah are back in Sydney on Monday week straight after the Closing Ceremony.
It’s not the same thing though.
It really isn’t momentum because it isn’t the same show.
People are only tuning in for Olympics coverage.
It’s a completely different show when they’re back in Sydney. Numbers will drop considerably come Tuesday week.
You really can’t read anything into these figures.

Isn’t Woodbridge, Stefanovic and Langdon plus various reporters part of the commentary team for the Closing Ceremony though, as per the OC? Who hosted by the way, Bracey or did McGuire do it? They’re showing highlights on Monday at lunch time and then a prime time encore which will be huge after The Block launch which you’d expect to also be huge

There was a pre-show hosted by Sarah Abo, James Bracey and Dylan Alcott - not sure if there was a host after the ceremony ended, or if Karl and commentators threw to Weekend Today, as I accidently went back to sleep during the ceremony

Exactly. No real switch of viewers away from Sunrise. These are additional viewers the majority of whom will disappear after the games end.

Good point. For sure. Especially after they view how tired and boring sports broadcasters Stefanovic & Abo are.
Who will host Today next week? Presumably Karl and Sarah will travel back after the Olympics end, meaning at the very least they will be missing Monday & Tuesday.
Probably DC and Sylvia or Jayne.
I reckon Karl will end up on Packers yacht for his bday then be back in time for the Logies
