To be fair, that either results in a huge ratings boost or makes Today look like a copycat. But one thing’s for sure - if Today becomes Sunrise 2.0, they’ve already lost one person.
Well if they all have unique editorial or opinions, then it won’t be a clone.
ABC always showcases its position, Sunrise its presenters you can get a hint, while TODAY remains cold and blank.
Easter Monday-
Karl and Allison are back hosting this morning.
The set looks like it’s shrunk again? Karl and Alli are sitting closer as well
With Richard Wilkins presenting Entertainment
They should never have bothered with her then. Waste of time. Giving her that out, she was always going to take it.
I guess Alex Cullen will be doing News and Sport for now, considering there won’t be much sport to report in the world for quite a while. The big question is: Will they keep him doing News long term and find someone else to cover sport later?
It makes no difference how long she was going to be on there when the show is suffering anyway.
Makes all the difference.
It’s now ANOTHER change to the show. They should choose someone who was actually fully committed or someone who lives in Sydney like Lara Vella or Davina Smith.
speaking of sydney , i think today should just give up on trying to get that market and concentrate on the others melbourne brisbane perth and adelaide.
What makes you think that they are concentrating on one city over another? I’d say they would be doing their best to attract viewers in every city.
They should have Clint Stanaway, Jonathan Uptin, Neil Breen or Rob Canning do Sport.
because atm sunrise is becoming very sydney centric hence the change in viewers from sydney at the moment. last time i watched today they were slowly doing the same
I don’t know why you keep bringing this up, I watch every morning and it doesn’t seem very Sydney centric, it’s more east-coast centric and I’m from WA.
What do you think is Sydney centric about them?
IMO the only markets that will have any interest in Today are Sydney and Brisbane, maybe Melbourne if they tried harder. They’re not going to have a chance in Adelaide and Perth as those two are dominated by Seven.
The fact that their headquarters/backdrop is right in the middle of Sydney, Martin Place. Most news is also typically about Sydney and NSW. (Coronavirus and other news).
I really dont see that. They give equal coverage to what’s happening in Victoria, Queensland and the other states. I see all the premiers featured or news about corona virus rules and regulations. The studio location doesn’t make a difference. They interview people all over the country on both shows.
Well in general most of this coronavirus stuff these days is all in NSW because the highest number of cases is recorded over there. Hence the huge focus on coronavirus and NSW these days. If it wasn’t for coronavirus you may be right.
