1000% agree.
Yeah great idea.
Now that 7 is leader in 3 out of 5 markets and close in the other 2, letâs put the underperforming 6pm newsreaders on the underperforming brekky show⌠thatâll help ratings all round⌠not!
If it was Sunrise doing this, youâd probably saying how great it is that Seven are giving their local newsreaders some national exposure!
7 does utilize its newsrooms to some efficiency for national newscast output, minus Adelaide.
Today was about 25,000 viewers behind Weekend Sunrise yesterday, with a strong lead in Sydney. A pretty good result for the team given they usually trial by 50-70k.
I didnât expect Tom to be away.
This could be a very interesting week.
Deb must be back? Would they really have all 3 hosts away?
Wouldnât surprise me. But, I think Deb will be back but with who- Ally?
Maybe. But Alli just did 4 days straight. I canât see her doing 11.
Maybe Ben Fordham or DC?
They just donât help themselves do they? There should only be ever one presenter away (when it can be helped) at a time. Why are Tom and Georgie away at the same time? Itâs just really bad for the show when they are struggling so much right now. I mean we donât know, Georgie could be back too I guess.
Deb is back from holidays (she could be filling in for Pete on 6pm bulletin on top of presenting Today this week)
Monday 15 July -
Deb is hosting with Allison Langdon and Michael Thomson.
Lara Vella is presenting the weather this morning.
Deb said Allison is here with us for a couple of days this week.
Whilst Tom and Georgie should have never been allowed holidays the same time. Ali is a very good replacement, miles more personality than GG.
Why you would roster two right-wing commentators on the same day is beyond me:
It defeats the whole point of the segment.
Is Tom on holidays? Heâs doing an interview without Dylan Alcott in London on this morningâs show.
And despite the tighter camera angle, he still managed to throw his hands around in shot
Some other caps from this morning:
- That dead pixel is really triggering, BTW.
Brenton Ragless is on tomorrowâs show.
What dead pixel?
I assumed he was referring to the newsreader.
Brooke Boney: âThatâs a big surprise that [Pauline Hanson doesnât get], isnât it? âŚâ
Nice to see Extra giving her a platform to offer an alternative perspective, from someone who has actually experienced this. Apart from the Australia Day debate, Brooke hasnât been given an opportunity to offer her opinions or knowledge on several Indigenous affairs. She could have interviewed Ken Wyatt on his appointment or his plan for recognition in the constitution. Brooke could have also filed a series of packages for NAIDOC week for Today. When she joined Today, they cited her heritage and that she was (one of) the first Indigenous Australians on comericial television. Yet, she is just left stranded on Entertainment duties. I donât understand that.
