2024 is the year Australians have been waiting for as the worldwide game show phenomenon, Tipping Point arrives on our shores.
Hosted by Aussie sporting legend Todd Woodbridge, three players will answer general knowledge questions, hoping to win counters which can be used on a large coin pusher, arcade-style Machine. Contestants from all over Australia will have the chance to win mystery prizes along with cash prizes, if they can beat the Machine.
With a jaw-dropping jackpot up for grabs, who will reach their Tipping Point and who will win and take home the cash?
Tipping Point Australia is produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay company) for the 9Network.
That looks like the UK set to me. Think we’ll know more of the actual Australian set when filming begins in October, though Nine would be conscious not to leak anything major until its expected launch after next year’s Australian Open.
I would like to think so, given Todd Woodbridge is based in Melbourne. It could take up the studio space that was formerly used by Weakest Link.
As I may have said previously, he could film some episodes on the UK set next June/July when he is in London for Wimbledon coverage, and also before he joins Nine’s coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
If there were to be any differences between the Australian and UK sets, I would say (obviously) the logo and some lighting/graphic elements.
Similarly, there were barely any differences between the two Chase sets, though there were plenty of other differences between the two versions such as graphics, music scores etc.
Ryan “Fitzy” Firgerald was an AFL player before he went on Big Brother. As well as being a radio host as part of Fitzy and Wippa, they hosted a lesser known season of 20 to 1. They also hosted an even lesser known chat show which infamously only lasted for one episode called Up Reasonably Late with Fitzy and Wippa.
Former Collingwood and Carlton footballer Peter McKenna co-hosted Hey Hey it’s Saturday for the show’s first eight weeks and went on to appear on other shows such as Young Talent Time.
Laila Ali has hosted numerous shows in the U.S. including an American Gladiators reboot with Hulk Hogan amongst others.
