Some interesting behind the scenes tid bits from UK Tipping Point on the latest episode of The Rest is Entertainment Podcast. Most notably, counters are plastic and noises that suggest otherwise are sound effects added later, and someone is the ‘counter counter’ who runs in after each drop and counts them (I had kind of always assumed this was done by weight or something).
One would imagine local production is much the same.

Tipping Point has a board game coming in the coming days - saw some out the back of Kmart on shift tonight on crates. It has a small replica of the dropper and cards. Not good news for The Chase Aus probably.

It was on crates on the store floor, so I’m guessing it’s due to be shelved any day now.

Not surprised that a Tipping Point board game would come out.
Easier to make a Tipping Point (and a Deal or No Deal) board game. Simple, and “fun" for the whole family.
Probably harder to make The Chase board game. Also known as Trivial Pursuit (pretty much).

Trivial Pursuit is not multiple choice.
That’s the whole point of producing game shows… advertising to promote as a revenue stream for people to buy board games.
