Tipping Point

I’m all up for the odd “Celebrity” version of this show. But why do they need to be pushed to a 90 minute edition? The UK Celebrity Version remains at 60 minutes long.

“Must see”

Tonight’s episode was extremely painful to watch

All 3 contestants didn’t make any money in the Bank Builder round since the machine wasn’t playing ball or the contestants got a question wrong. There was an ambient drop of 4 counters which were removed.

During the ad break before the Quickfire round there was an ambient drop of 6 counters which were removed. The 1st contestant (Tony) only got 1 counter during his 30 seconds and didn’t make any money. However 3 counters came over the Tipping Point on his 3rd and final push. The 3rd contestant (Victoria) got 2 counters during her 30 seconds. Before she put the 1st counter in 2 counters came over the tipping point and were out of play and were removed. The 2 counters Victoria put into the machine weren’t able to get anything over the tipping point. However on her 3rd and final push on her 2nd counter, 4 counters came over the tipping point and Victoria just snuck through to the Head To Head round.

Before the head to head round started there was ambient drop of 5 counters which were removed.

Patrick got through to the Jackpot round and put the jackpot counter into drop zone 1. It almost sat flat, but unfortunately just rode on top of another counter making it more difficult to move the jackpot counter. Patrick played terribly only getting 1 category right and only moving the jackpot counter 1 counter forward.

He ended the jackpot round with $3,900 and Todd was stupid enough to play Jackpot Temptation and offered Patrick 4 counters for $40,000 and 5 counters for $20,000 and a holiday to Fiji. Patrick was stupid enough to take 5 counters for $20,000 and a holiday to Fiji. He got the jackpot counter down on the lower shelf, but couldn’t get it over the tipping point walking home empty handed.

I knew Todd wasn’t a fan of the suits

Huge win for Tipping Point on Tuesday with a near 200,000 margin.

Only three other episodes ever have topped 800,000 and in those cases The Case was about 100,000 behind.

“Game, set and love match for Todd Woodbridge and wife Tash, celebrating 30 years of marriage”:

Nice story, even if it is Woman’s Day. It’s still such a shock to hear he suffered a heart attack a few years ago, somebody who still looks so fit and known for being so healthy/a former athlete. And Warnie’s tragedy too. Middle aged men definitely should all get a check-up!

This week’s Tipping Point ratings averaged 812,000, its best week on record. The Chase averaged 660,000.

The equivalent week last year the number were 704,000 (TP) and 703,000 (Chase).

That suggests that while The Chase has dropped 40,000, Tipping Point has brought an extra 60,000 viewers to the the contest by increasing 100,000.

TUESDAY, MAY 27, AT 7.30PM ON CHANNEL 9 AND 9NOW

The Travel Guides are trading their passports for counters as they take on the Tipping Point Australia machine in a special prime-time episode, Tuesday, May 27, at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

In this exciting charity edition of Australia’s favourite game show, hosted by Todd Woodbridge, fan-favourite cast members from Travel Guides will go head to head for the chance to win the $40,000 jackpot and donate it to their chosen causes.

Kevin and Janetta, the luxe-loving married couple of 38 years and Travel Guides originals, are playing for Second Bite, an organisation dedicated to rescuing surplus food and distributing it to those in need.

Matt and Brett, partners for 23 years, bring their wit and heart as they compete for Stuart House, a charity that supports the education and well-being of disadvantaged children.

And the boys, Dorian, Kev and Teng, best mates who met working at Target and now travel the world together, are bringing their energy to play for the Type 1 Foundation, a cause close to Kev’s heart as he lives with type 1 diabetes.

With high-stakes drops, surprising twists and loads of laughs, who will outwit the machine and grab the cash for their charity?

Don’t miss this special episode filled with feelgood fun, heartfelt stories and all the competitive chaos you’d expect from the Travel Guides crew.

Found the 2016 Lucky Stars episode on YouTube in which three Chasers took on the machine in this special crossover:

Locally, I’d love to see an NRL/AFL special (more likely NRL) sometime down the track!

If only 7 & 9 weren’t rivals so much that’d be really cool to watch on Aussie TV.
