Could it have been strategic for Nine to air it during the first ad break on Hot Seat?
This suggests to me that normal counters could be worth $200 (on the UK version they’re £50). But I think $40,000 is too “low” of a jackpot prize.

Seems a bit far out to be a strategy as such just yet.
Dare say there will be a lot of promos for it during the Australian Open.
And to add to the logo inconsistency, a 2024 promo with the glossy logo?
$40k is an odd prize… $50k sounds better, and more common.
Also running 20sec promos - original was 40sec.
V/o says “Soon on Nine”
Ohhh yes, the UK gameshows are comparatively stingy with their prize money offerings.
Whilst the top TPUK prize is 10,000 pounds (or 20K with the double) that is for a population 2.5 times higher than ours.
And Pointless starts at a weak 1,000 pounds and that’s in primetime there too.
Even allowing for the exchange rate, that’s all still pretty stingy i reckon.
On their original version of Weakest Link, the top prize was £10,000. By contrast, in the Australian version, you could bank a maximum of $10,000 in one round alone, while in the US their top prize in a single round was $125,000.
‘Todd everywhere’
All their promos sound like “Wide World of
Sports” to me
Todd Throughout?
But seriously, he has a long way to go to reach Eddie’s level of presence.
Enjoyed the promo. The only turn off for me were the contestants, the “come on!” felt very forced/over the top and I’m not sure what the purpose of the scream was - was the machine about to fall on her?
Tipping Point is doing a Lucky Stars edition but the only star I recognise is Canadian comedienne Kathryn Ryan.
Yes, whenever a question comes up about anything to with the BBC or ITV, I rarely know the answer.
I just saw an audience call promo for Tipping Point Australia.
Glad to see that our version will have an audience.
They’re playing “Tipping Point Lucky Stars” (UK celebrity version) which does have an audience unlike the regular version and the atmosphere is much better.
Since when has this version aired on Channel Nine?
They must play all UK variants in the 3pm slot.
I just assumed that we only get the regular season of Tipping Point UK here, and not the celebrity version. Just going by this forum alone.
I’m fairly sure it’s been running on Friday afternoons for the last few weeks. The rest of the week is the normal version.
There are also some repeats at around 12.30am occasionally.
