Haha cheers. Don’t tell anyone but business isn’t my 100% love either. Ticker is more business lifestyle than hard market news. That usually makes me wanna snooze.
Ticker is more “lifestyle” and contemporary news. There’s no point trying to outdo ABC or Sky as a news channel - we are for under 45s who love startups, tech.
Im often asked who is our target market, and I say a 30yo professional who loves Apple.
Currently, we do 7 hours a day live. From 8am til 3pm. We are adding a 3pm edition of Ticker Newsroom in a week or two, then Ryan Jon’s show On The Download will extend to 4 days a week LIVE at 4pm.
When we aren’t live, we have a programming loop. All our shows run exactly 30 mins or 1 hour, so they run off a playlist until the next morning.
Our ambitions are big, and I’m aiming to get to 17 hours a day of original programming. News/chat during the day, sponsored programs and chat shows like She’s The Boss at night, as well as a few comedies.
The great thing about being an agile streamer, is nothing is set in stone. We don’t anger our older viewers by moving legacy shows around because we don’t have any!
I know. Bloody Stephan Conroy, Graham Richardson, Kristina Keneally, Peter Van Onselen, Nicholas Reece, Dee Madigan, Richard Marles, Michael Costa etc…
Comedy is a very broad genre, for example I think I’m hilarious.
There’s a show I love called Nathan For You out of the US. It’s a documentary-comedy. I absolutely love it. It’s the sort of stuff I’m referring to that would work on Ticker. But that’s just one example.
Our studios are big enough for studio audiences, when we can eventually sit people together again.
Fair enough. I wish there was a platform similar to yours for general entertainment - especially with the impending closure of community tv in Australia
@Ahron I think the ticker tv android app might to be updated or fixed .It’s not playing the feed live.its playing it like watching a video on catch up.youtube how ever is ok
all of these people are so deep in Labor’s right faction that they’d be at home in the Libs. PVO was also a former Abbott staffer. Sorry that facts are inconvenient.
Show sounds great. The graphics are too American for me. Less is more, particularly on smaller screens.
