Not sure why we need to see these talking heads overlaid on some flashy graphics. You can absorb the information and enjoy the discussion without the need to see these people. The most interesting thing I’ve seen so far is the old Tonight Live mug in the background. I’d probably listen every now and then during the workday if this was a podcast or just an audio stream.
Perhaps they’ll release it as a podcast too
i actually enjoyed the show:D @Ahron ticker is a great service:) @blackbox that was a great start for the 1st program . i actually enjoyed it and will be back tuned in tomorrow
My thoughts exactly. Some people have good heads for podcasts.
Same!
I actually think @NewsWeary the visuals worked well!
Haha the tricks of the trade. It’s actually from a special YouTube link. We spent a fair bit of time testing other links like SRT but in the end if it works it works. Just need to make sure the director doesn’t cursor over the feed!
And tbh, that’s the thing. To make this work, you can’t have satellite trucks parked out the front, or giant teams in playout centres. And let’s be honest, even when you do, things can still go wrong.
My view is the future of media is what you see, not what you can’t see. If we can get the feed from Youtube and save a bob, then we use that money on something you can see.
It’s the same thing we do for everything, and how we’ve been able to open TV advertising opportunities to small and medium businesses, not just conglomerates.
Interesting to read the feedback. There are a few things to fix up just like there is on every show. Worth noting 4 people work on this including the presenters and were trying to keep things as topical as possible.
We’ll iron things out but just hope there is something there. The show will evolve over time too.
You didn’t feel like you were watching a radio station’s studio webcam?
Great first show Rob! really enjoyed it, despite the technical issues!
2 things from me - I watched on the ticker app on my TV and the ticker Live bug often covered up the end of your strap text. Also, and this maybe something you don’t mind, but its all very dark. Like when the three of you are on screen, you have the black background, black straps and all 3 of you have blackish backgrounds. Perhaps the top line of the strap could be white? Just a couple of thoughts, but I know you will evolve it. Good job & I’ll be watching!
Unfortunately Apple autocorrect doesn’t care for Robbo it seems
Besides, it’s TV- who doesn’t love a sudden name change ten minutes before air?
No - not really!
neither do i
Oh, 100%. I was impressed by the picture quality coming out of the Ticker studio, YouTube handles HD streaming reasonably well it appears. I imagine most of your streaming audience is via YouTube anyway (and it’s not like Twitter’s streams are consistently high quality either), so for your end user it makes little to no visible difference.
Business programming isn’t my bag but any opportunity to give Australians more access to production is never a bad thing, good luck with the venture!
Good points and thanks. It’s easier to make dark sets rather than bright ones which is why we’ve gone down that path, but everything will evolve.
It looks all well and good, and the format probably isn’t too bad, the big problem however is the hosts. Rob is good and makes it flow okay, however you’ve got two other people that are virtually the same and share the same beliefs - where’s the difference of opinion? Both bagged out the Liberal party in the first 5 minutes which just turned me off straight away (e.g talking about Liberal party in-fighting and how the Liberal party has a history of this, while ignoring the long history of Labor Party infighting, Hawke/Keating and the worst of all Rudd/Gillard/Rudd). As I’ve read before on TVBlackbox before, it’s the same reason shows like The Project fail, all share the same opinion and beliefs. Taking a look at the list of ‘regulars’ on the show, I can’t see this changing.
It’s good to see a show like this, and I appreciate the effort people have put in, I’m simply trying to offer constructive feedback.
i disagree , having ben and robbo on on is great and i think there opinions are diverese as well. and they can bagge out the liberal party if they want to its a free country and we have the right to bag out our govt if we want to
They’re more than welcome to do that, any show is more than welcome to do that. However, you’re going to loose some of your audience if that continues. When you don’t connect with your audience, or you bag opinions that they might have without having someone on that shares that opinion, than you’re going to loose that audience.
meah , i think @blackbox knows what he is doing
Really liked the show! A lot!!! All 3 hosts were great. It looked slick. I don’t feel like it was a radio show. Felt very TMZ / The young Turks to me. I’d like to see the webcams upgraded - can iPhone do HD and look better?
Content was good to me. 1pm feels weird.
But really good show
This is the kind of thing 10, win, prime or local stations should be doing in the mornings.
It’s fun TV!
I know the iPhone I use for my camera can go up to 4K!
Totally agree with you about the program @KICK-IT!
