“It’ll sort of just say like, what state they’re from. There’s no names, no gender or anything like that,” he said. “We never get told anything about who they are, we don’t get told the song.
“But if it’s a really random song, like one that’s some B-side Whitesnake or Radiohead or something that not everyone knows, we get told that so that we don’t think it’s an original.”
Tonights episode highlighted why I have enjoyed this season much more than the past number of seasons, the warm lovely bits far outweigh the sentimental stories.
As tragic as the scuba trip would definitely have been for the young girl, it had no real connection to her singing, but then that was followed up by a contestant that didn’t get any chairs turning around but they were supportive and had fun and a lot of heart with him; and this keeps me coming back after watching the first half an hour of the first episode this year out of curiosity waiting for Survivor to start.
With each judge allowed an unlimited number of contestants on his/her team this season, I notice they were more aggressive in pressing buttons and pitching for the contestants. So far this season, there was only one occasion where one judge turned the chair (Guy turning his chair during Baylie Carson’s performance).
I think it’s not a great idea for the judges to have unlimited number of contestants. Should be 10 maximum and then over two nights cut down to 5. This cut is far too dramatic.
I know the blind auditions are the ones that rate but I think they should’ve probably started ‘The Cut’ last night and spread it out over 2-3 episodes if they were to go from unlimited to 5.
So we don’t see much of some contestants again. I know that the auditions are the drawcard episodes for The Voice, but we do like to see more of the contestants between auditions stage and the finals. The Cut probably should have been 2 or 3 episodes.
Around 50 contestants got “turned”, and only 20 go through to the next round.
