This will be another season, so expect two versions of The Voice next year.
They also had to stop production on Australian Idol. Why would they have so many singing shows?
Isn’t this just a special edition of The Voice, like previous editions of this and The Block on Nine where favourites came back?
It is a special edition of The Voice, it has never been done in any other country before.
I’m sure they’ll be hoping for more success than they had with My Kitchen Rules and then MKR: Plate of Origin.

A surprise sibling audition captures the coaches
There are no shortage of electrifying performances set to storm the The Voice stage when the all-new season of the world’s biggest singing competition premieres after the Olympics on its new home – Channel 7 and 7plus.
19-year-old Jordan Fuller grew up surrounded by music. With a singing teacher mother, talent is in his blood, so it comes as no surprise when his performance of Harry Styles’ Falling has all four superstar coaches singing his praises.
Keith Urban declares Jordan “a diamond in the rough.” Guy Sebastian calls his voice “effortless”, Jessica Mauboy “exquisite” while Rita Ora proclaims: “I can’t believe how somebody this young has that much soul in his voice.”
But when it comes to Fullers, it’s a full-house of star power. Jordan’s 16-year-old sister, Sian, is waiting in the wings to support her brother when the universe steps in with other plans. Trusting her gut, host Sonia Kruger asks a shocked Sian if she would like to audition impromptu: “I can’t believe this is happening… opportunities like this probably won’t come again so I’m going to give it all I’ve got.”
When Sian takes to The Voice stage, it’s a last minute life-changing opportunity, will it pay off?
Time to get the feeling!
Global mega-hit The Voice premieres 7.00pm Sunday, 8 August
There’s only one place to get the feeling when the unmissable new season of The Voice premieres 7.00pm Sunday, 8 July on Channel 7 and 7plus.
The world’s biggest singing competition will debut on its new home with a new look, new feel, an all-star coaching panel and world-class artists waiting to be discovered.
Taking their places on the spinning red chairs are multiple ARIA and GRAMMY© Award winner Keith Urban, UK hit machine Rita Ora, mega selling singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian and, making her coaching debut on The Voice , singing and acting sensation Jessica Mauboy.
On what drew him to coaching, Keith Urban said: “I love the spirit of The Voice – the fact that we’re coaches more than judges – and that we get to do hands on mentoring. That’s what sets the show apart.” Rita Ora added: “Helping people find their voice is truly inspiring.”
Making her coaching debut, Jessica Mauboy defined great talent as: “It’s not always about hitting the perfect note, it’s about making sure you feel the song because that’s going to help you connect to the audience and the people watching at home.”
Guy Sebastian declared: “What I am looking for is somebody who you can imagine on radio, who is immediately identifiable by their voice, their tone, and the way they tell a story through song.”
This is like a repeat of April 2018, when Seven scheduled a new episode of My Kitchen Rules before the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games closing ceremony on the same night.
Does it mean WA viewers will have to choose between The Voice and Tokyo Olympics closing ceremony (they will air simultaneously from 7pm local time, due to time difference)?
IIRC this is the first time the names of the artists whose blind auditions would feature in the broadcast, were all released at once. When the show was on Nine, it would only release info on one or two notable artists who would take part in each auditions episode.
Does that mean they all get in though? Hopefully it’s so we can get a bit of a back story on them and it’s cut down on the show?
It doesn’t mean all got through to the next round. Remember hundreds of people got the chance to perform in front of the judges, but most of them would not be shown on TV.
Very slick promo for The Voice. Sunday. After the Olympics.
Huh? Am i living in the future?
What?
It says 8 July…
