The Voice

Well, all of it is obvious to anyone. Why can’t the contestants see that beforehand?

Interesting read and comments by Natalie Gauci. But it comes to no surprise really. The show is really contrived. And obvious when watching it on the telly too.

Too much drama from the coaches. And many backstories from tge contestants in the blind auditions. I will watch it on Seven to give it a go and see if there will be any changes, but have been losing interest on the show of late, which is a shame.

Without a new EP and producing team the same rot will continue.

Tones and I. Busking.

Certainly are many avenues and the most successful usually find a way.

I’m in shock (that he would admit it).

‘I supposedly cheated on the show by pushing my button and getting an extra member on my team, and the truth bomb is, a lot of that was quite orchestrated,’ he said.

‘The other coaches didn’t know… but for a bit of drama cause we were dealing with COVID and everything else I got it, I understood I had to be a sacrificial lamb and be called a cheat among other things, but it was all staged.’

He then confirmed that the producers had told him to do it, but admitted that he ‘sold it’.

As with all the alleged ‘reality’ shows. They may not be scripted, but they certainly are heavily produced, directed and edited to ensure the exact end result is achieved.

Seven’s Director of Production Andrew Backwell has refuted claims that the new season would be made on a smaller budget.

Four coaches are still to be announced, but Backwell assures deals on big names are being finalised.

“One thing I’ve read in some some publications is that we’re going to go smaller and do the show on a (small) budget. That’s absolutely not true. We’re going to deliver some big international names for this.

“What we can’t do is take Nine’s biggest show and make it smaller. It’s going to be bigger, glossier, and it’s going lose some of the middle rounds… compacted from the Blinds straight to Semi-finals and Finals.

“And we’ve got a brand new round in there that’s never been done in The Voice before. It’s a mechanic that gets you from the Blinds to the Finals -it’s exciting.”

Having The Voice AND Australian Idol, seems like having MKR and Plate of Origin… do we need 2 singing shows , possibly 3 ? assuming 7 has AGT as well .

I can guarantee you that if The Voice does really well for Seven, the Idol reboot will be canned.

Yeah I am sure Australian Idol was only announced because 10 were about to sign it. It’s probably why 10s upfronts were quite bare.

This year’s winner Chris Sebastian has told Who magazine he was “98 per cent sure” his brother Guy will return as a judge on the show next year.

Mariah Carey will be doing her only Australian interview on Sunrise, so could this add more fuel to the fire to the speculation that she will be coach on The Voice next season?

Considering she is releasing a Christmas special via Apple TV+ it could / probably is just promo on the highest rated breakfast show.

Delta was on the Kelly Clarkson show and they talked about how at once time Kelly was asked to be a coach but she was too pregnant and then Delta said something like you should do it now indicating she’s still with the show.

Delta’s confirmed that she won’t be on The Voice next season - she’s launched a production company which will be partnering with Nine for projects.

Don’t think this is too surprising for most of us - it’s been long rumoured that Tones & I and Ricki-Lee have signed on and Guy’s brother pretty much confirmed that he’s staying on too.

Big news from Goodrem. That’s she’s staying with the Nine Network and won’t join The Voice on the 7 network next year.
