Historically it’s often a third season where reality shows rate - with a fourth then often dropping off a bit and seen as a flop, even though it might outrate the first two. 8m in the overnights is ridiculous for The Traitors UK and even 25 years ago that would have been considered a hit.
I can’t talk for the US but for the UK this isn’t that uncommon, especially at this time of the year. The X Factor saw some of its strongest viewers in its seventh season. With even seven 13 out rating the first.
The Traitors UK and The Traitors US have hooked viewers with explosively powerful showdowns and glorious chaos, reaching over 445,000 viewers and collecting over 100 million minutes viewed on 10 streaming.
The Traitors UK is also the #1 on-demand show on commercial BVOD.
UK Traitors is a great watch…getting up early tomorrow to watch the final live. Hoping the Australian ‘reboot’ can live up to the production values and strategy play. Gretel will be perfect for host, but casting will be key. if this works, hoping a proper celebrity version will attract better talent
I’m confused, how is it the #1 On-Demand Commercial BVOD show yet only reaching 447,000 people across both UK and US versions. Is this implying the UK version is only getting 223,500 people reached (and viewers even less?)
Is this just because of a lack of ANY other show that’s decent on 7+ and 9Now that streams exclusively?
And the action certainly kept viewers hooked, as an average of 8.44 million people tuned in to watch the instalment on BBC One, according to overnight ratings.
That sounds about right. There aren’t that many high profile shows that stream exclusively on FTA streamers that don’t air on television. So to be the #1 on that metric isn’t really a surprise. I would say 200kish each for both Traitors US and UK is pretty good for any exclusive streaming show.
The Traitors final was watched by 9.4 MILLION viewers last night, an all-time for the regular series and up 2 million on last year. 6.6 MILLION stayed tuned in for Uncloaked that followed.
