It’s funny how the UK version quite clearly gives the impression that the cast sleep offsite and not in the castle, yet the US version shows them going upstairs to sleep.
Which is truth? They sleep there right? If so, why does the UK bother with the cars arriving etc
I actually doubt anyone sleeps there and think that all the castle internals are filmed on a set.
Gotta say Michael Rapport’s career won’t be looking so good after this. I don’t know who’d wanna hire him. Complete and arrogant douche.
his been like this for years, not sure how he keeps get hired…
I was just about to post the same thing. He is well-known as an arrogant prick. ![]()
According to this newspaper, they don’t stay at the castle, they sleep at a nearby Marriott hotel.
The castle is the set. They do film in the castle. They spend their day and evenings there when filming. The roundtable and turret are sets built on the castle site.
At the end of the day they do go back to a hotel as there arent enough rooms on site and are driven back in the morning. UK are more transparent about that where US try to give it the look and feel of international versions, many which are filmed in the one place.
Doesn’t this happen every year? I have a feeling this was to always save on costs
Friday night’s episode rose to 7.8 million the biggest ever audience for any ep of the show for any series and well up on last years’ final.
Completely disagree - it’s the casting of “gamers” and the clique of housewives which ruin it because they go in playing the wrong game, more focused on alliances based on their pre-show identity rather than playing the game in front of them.
This is really evident at the round table in episode 3 as they just all ignore the evidence actually presented at the round table and just vote how their alliances agreed and basically target the person that doesn’t fit the mould. This results in a unanimous vote which results in the least satisfying traitor capture in the shows history as there was no strategy or gameplay behind it - if was just luck.
Always interesting though from a production point of view to see the tweaks between the production of the two versions - the main difference here being the Secret Traitor knew the identity of the other traitors in the UK but not in the US.
Crazy how different the markets and culture is between the UK and Australia. Can’t imagine a Friday night episode ever topping the ratings here.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are their biggest nights. I also could never imagine shows rating well past 9pm here. People stay up a lot later in the UK and you will find a lot more people go for after work drinks during the week.
Any data on how Traitors UK is performing on 10play?
Although part of the reason it’s ratings are up this year is they’ve moved it from 9pm to 8pm so they’re capturing a family audience as well plus those who might previously have caught up the next day and now watch live.
Strangely though given how differently the evenings are scheduled the average bedtime for Australians and Brits is around about the same - 10.30-10.45pm.
Tonight’s episode:
Wow. Harriet is so aggressive. It’s just a game. That breakfast table discussion was nuts.
Two episodes aired today in the US version. 10 have only uploaded one. ![]()
So much better than the US version. I really like both but the ‘celebs’ are too divided (Real housewives and gamers). I’ve always been an Alan Cumming fan, he’s a very talented man but all his clothes changing etc becomes annoying and distracting. He needs to watch Claudia she’s a great presence but unassuming snd let’s the players be front and centre. Hope our Gretel is more like her.
It’s there now.
No I like they are different. It makes the show more interesting. They already have the same twists don’t need a host doing and saying the same thing
