I get these things leak but I don’t understand officially announcing the cast so early. Also if they’re going the US route probably not wise to announce a reality alumni cast at the same time as they’re streaming a genuinely celeb packed UK version. Personally I hate the trend of shows relying on reality stars created by other shows rather than creating reality stars of their own, but I think it’s understandable why Ten have gone this route.
Ignoring the calibre of the cast I don’t think it’s fair most shows have one or two reps and then Survivor has 4 alumni. Hopefully the others are wise enough to get rid of them first off to level the playing field.

I know there are some big names on here, but so do reckon a lot would be gettable:
Julia M, Waleed, Annabel, Todd, Grace, Julia z and Tom are all names who I think could have been incentivised.
In a way it’s not too dissimilar from Taskmasters, a few weeks away filming fun challenges in a lovely estate in rural NZ…
it’s a far cry from a show like I’m a Celeb with eating challenges or a gruelling dance rehearse schedule of DWTS

I had this random brainstorm earlier today - maybe in light of the upcoming Traitors and the Reality All-Star cast … maybe a rival network, say 7, could try to steal 10’s thunder and do a Celebrity Reboot of The Mole - with genuine celebs (on the level of the ChatGPT cast) rather than Reality Stars, who can bring the drama but have a narrower appeal).
While I love both shows, and I hope The Traitors reboot helps the show become a mainstay franchise in Australia. But someone could swoop in with a Celeb Mole and play off it being “The OG Traitorous Game”, with the format also having a potential broader appeal for an Aussie audience- in being little more action-packed (more adventurous challenges compared to the quaint, if brilliantly camp & macabre Traitors challenges) and is a simpler format (Challenges for Prize Pot (occasionally with an offer Immunity as a dilemma in a challenge), then Quiz for Eviction).

“have been filmed” in the headline makes it sounds like they already filmed it, the article does not clarify this.
Aus one wrapped filming late last week, I believe.
I believe based on social media activity of the contestants, it has been filmed (noticeable gap from Mid-Sept to now from many contestants), not to mention how it’s a short filming schedule (most seasons tend to be ~2 weeks in filming time and maybe a week pre-show).

The first episode of The Celebrity Traitors has already been watched by over 11.7m viewers to date and continues to grow, with 2.2M 16-34 year olds tuning in, breaking its own record for most viewed episode of the programme. This makes the series debut of The Celebrity Traitors the biggest unscripted episode across the UK market since 2022*.

Celebrity Traitors has been amazing for 10 to get easy traction in the lead up to the reboot of the AUS version.
it’s been a great season so far - great tv! Now the AUS version needs to match it in quality.
