The Traitors

With both the US & UK franchises growing (UK adding Celeb Traitors alongside OG civilian version, US doing a civilian version for FTA in addition to their main Reality All-Star version) and the show largely being successful in most countries, I would bet a decent money that Aussie Traitors is rebooted, if not next year then the year after.

(Also me being hopeful and someone who enjoys the game and format).

I hope it’s not on channel 10.

I think if it was originally on 9 or 7 it could have had a chance to have a bigger audience etc given season 1 & 2 on 10 averaged just mid 200k metro. I don’t think it would have been that big but think if it was on 9 or 7 it could have been mid 350-400k for season 1 & either declined or grown depending on the reception

Hopefully the popularity overseas helps it here especially if it’s on 10.

Network 10 tight-lipped on the future of The Traitors Australia

Paramount-owned broadcaster 10 is refusing to engage in speculation it may be reviving The Traitors Australia for a third season.

As Upfronts season draws nearer, fans and industry insiders have questioned whether the format could return, and if so, which network would air it.

10, however, would not be drawn on the speculation, telling Mumbrella on Monday morning: “We look forward to making the 2026 content announcements for both 10 and Paramount+, at our Upfront presentation in the next few months.”

New host likely.

Sounds like it will be done on the cheap, I’m not feeling hopeful tbh.

It’s not like the show should be that expensive to produce and make anyway.

Rebecca gibney was tipped for millionaire but she could be good for this. Think she’d have some fun and bring some flair. Sigrid thornton could be another option.

Shaun Micallef would also be quite good.

Given its success overseas, I’m honestly surprised 7 or 9 haven’t jumped to try and make it work in this market since 10 rested it. Could it really have done any worse than The Summit or Stranded on Honeymoon Island?

Ahh - I need to see that,

Maybe 10 had the program rights despite resting it?

Shaun would be good for this not someone I have thought of before. Personally I have always thought Noni Hazlehurst but even Julia Zemiro or Virginia Gay could be good fits too.

Virginia Gay would be a great pick. Or Julia Zemiro and Kitty Flanagan as a duo?

Yes to Gibney!!! She’d be great at this or perhaps Sigrid.

10’s repeated denials do make me wonder if a new network might be in play (happy to be proven wrong, of course). The chatter around a new location, host, format, and even a different production company doesn’t really sound like the kind of noise you’d expect if 10 were firmly committed. A host change is one thing, but all those other supposed tweaks feel more like signs of a revival elsewhere rather than on 10.

By the way, has 10 announced a date for their upfronts yet?

Rodger Corser but on Nine?

In the TT article, Ch10 are quoted as saying “We look forward to making the 2026 content announcements for both 10 and Paramount+, at our Upfront presentation in the next few months.”

That’s not a no.

If 10 were truly committed, they would have confirmed it long before now. All they’ve done is deny every rumour. Big Brother’s return was confirmed by the network faster and with far less fanfare than this has ever had.
