In the UK, did Disney’s purchase of Fox / Disney Plus launch affect the show in the UK too? Like it did here. (e.g.) Swift removal, at least initially, along with other content from FTA and Pay TV. Putting them behind svod and tvod, protecting Disney+.

Like what happened with Nine/Stan (Disney content) & Foxtel (Disney Channel) 6 years ago and Simpsons on the latter (Fox 8) in 2022.

Don’t recall this lasting long either? Then Fox would terminate the output in mid-2017 (affecting Eleven).

It lasted until sometime in 2014 when it was replaced by Modern Family and Family Feud.

And this turned out to be fairly successful, along with a resurgence for the network after a horror year or two lead by BBL, Sochi, Glasgow, MasterChef and Offspring and would last until about 2017/2018 IIRC, also eventually handing Grant Denyer a controversial Gold Logie (though some argued represented his wider career as well to that point). And funny how he’s there again now at 6:30 with another game show.

No, not at all. Sky did eventually lose first-run rights (at the end of 2024) but that was obviously years after Disney+ launched.

I guess UK money talks vs Australia then. And/or their strategy in the Australia/NZ territory was more aggressive perhaps.

Is this from the same idiots who think Australia doesn’t exist?
