I doubt there will be an actual one. That way they can revive the series years later (ala the Jetsons in the 1980s).
I think it’s gone on for so long that a ‘proper’ ending would just be odd. Much like Red Dwarf.
It seems like The Simpsons are getting a Season 37.
Characters from The Simpsons will be involved in a special animated broadcast of NFL Monday Night Football game between Cincinnati and Dallas on December 9. It will be shown live on ESPN in Australia and New Zealand on December 10.
Feel like we’re going to start seeing more of these stories as the years go on, might be good to start thinking about the future of the show (yet again) as a whole
I’ve noticed a few dodgy sounding voices in the current season. I guess the actors have aged and are finding it harder to perform. There was one episode in particular where Monty Burns sounded nothing like his usual voice.
Compare Lisa in Season 4-5 during the Golden Age to today. A lot less high-pitched.
No doubt once the current voice actors for the core characters get to old, they will just use AI - Disney will milk every last cent they can from this show.
Aren’t they already doing that?
Yep - they will do anything to squeeze cash from a show which probably should’ve ended after season 30.
It was announced today that The Simpsons Monday Football would be shown live on ESPN2 and Disney+ in Australia and NZ from 12pm AEDT and 2pm NZT on December 10.
ESPN have been running ads for weeks about this here - it looks dreadful. Will probably still watch for a bit.
The Oscar nominee recently revealed that she owns a piece of The Simpsons, following her 1991 divorce from Sam Simon, who developed the Fox series with creator Matt Groening and James L. Brooks in 1989.
“My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created The Simpsons,” noted Tilly on this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “I was married to him for seven years, we were together for about 10 years. When we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement.”
She added, “Nobody knew that The Simpsons was going to go on for trillions of year. So every day — honestly, every day — I’m like, ‘Thank you, Sam.'”
Tilly reportedly got 30% of Simon’s net proceeds from the Fox series in the divorce, according to Radar.
Very impressive coverage. I particularly liked the fact we got to see inside the Bengals dressing room for the pre-match pep-talk. Lisa was amazing, even quoted the great Vince Lombardi - let’s just hope that Joe and the boys take it onboard.
Meantime, what a pity the Funday night football on ESPN2 is two minutes behind Joe and Troy on ESPN.
Funday Night Football will be available for catch-up on Disney+ for the next 30 days.
Tried it for about 5 minutes. Truly not good.
Should have just replayed the episode where Homer becomes a football coach and called it a night.
How about the Coach’s Hotline from “Lisa the Greek”?
Nice work Lisa. Jimmy would be proud.
