This had the potential to be something great but the story (and some of the acting) was a bit patchy. They didn’t do a very good job setting up the characters. I spent half the episode thinking Jack’s second wife was his daughter.
Too many coincidences which was very annoying. A dying Jack goes searching for his secret daughter and she accidentally hits him with her car and they camp out that night at the cemetery? What the? The son comes looking for the secret daughter and he bumps into her too at the pub? As if.

I watch the show on Plus7 as it has clashed with HYBPA and Brock mini-series.
In episode 2 Billie took a DNA test but her sample was left in the drawer at the hotel reception. So how was it possible the test proved she was Jack’s “secret daughter”? Did someone helped her in discreet? There could be a twist at the season finale when the original sample was discovered.
The Inter-Continental Hotel in Sydney CBD stood in for the Norton Hotel in the drama so it was strange it was not acknowledged in the credits.
My guess is that the younger daughter switched the sample. And a guess at a strange twist is that the son who bumped into Billie at the pub is adopted.
If it turns out she isn’t really his daughter that kind of ruins the premise of the show and there would be no need for a second season.
Not really, she could hook up with the son & become the not so secret daughter-in-law…
Yeah that would be a catchy title.
