The format reminds me of Bachelor in Paradise, with at least one contestant entering in each episode, ensuring there is always unequal number of men and women.

How this shit gets renewed and not amazing race is beyond me.
And if they were to renew amazing race just do a traditional once a week format. Much more exciting. As seen in the current US version.
Clearly this is funded by princess cruises in conjunction with CBS.

Chelsea Joins The Mediterranean High Seas.
Twelve hopeful singles woke up on the voyage of a lifetime.
The couples enjoyed a pool party aboard the ship, spending one-on-one time with each other before being greeted by Cruise Director Hannah Ferrier and Head Of Entertainment Daniel Doody.
The Cupids dropped a shock twist in the group, by introducing a new passenger on the search for love, Chelsea. After chatting with the crowd, she admitted Dalton would be her top pick based on first impression.
Chelsea spent the day getting to know the different personalities on The Real Love Boat . But things got a little awkward by the pool when speaking to coupled-up Dalton and Moana, after Chelseaâs claim earlier on.
Everyone headed back to their cabins, where the girls were invited to their first Captainâs Table, following the Cupids debriefing on the events to-date with Captain Paolo. It was revealed that the Cupids will be deciding what couples will have the chance to go on destination dates and receive an upgraded suite. There were big reactions at the table, as the girls proceeded to fight for their chance to go on a special outing with their guy of choice. Drama had definitely joined the chat, with Moana going to bed early. Meanwhile, the guys in question were having a boysâ night in the Love Lounge.
The girls then met with the guys and Host Darren McMullen, where the lucky couples were announced. Sally and Jay, Katie and Chris, and Chelsea and Dalton were chosen for hot dates on land, and Naomi and Daniel received an upgraded suite on board together.
With now thirteen lonely hearts on board, will they find their ferry-tale love story? Find out when The Real Love Boat continues its sail through the Mediterranean next Wednesday.

You know they would never do such a thing in Australia, Tentpole shows need to be on at least 3x a week here.
Amazing Race is probably infinitely more expensive to produce than Love Boat while the ratings will most likely be similar.
Plus the corporate synergies and cost savings of CBS and 10 going in on it together probably helps too.

It was interesting to also see that Amazing Race only had 2.3m on the same night. The Rookie: Feds which rated 2.3m, was the lowest of all new shows launched this season.
So The Real Love Boat brought down the ratings for Amazing Race too given it had to move to a 10 pm timeslot to accommodate Real Love Boat. Retaining pretty much all the total viewers and demo is good for The Amazing Race. Meanwhile RLB lost 50% in total viewers and over 50% in the demo following Survivor.
Theyâre on different channels. Why did AR have to move on 7 to accommodate a 10 show?
I donât understand the 10 oâclock time slot for TARâŚâŚ it should be at 8 family viewing time.

I was talking about the Amazing Race moving to the 10 pm slot in the US, the Real Love Boat US is sandwiched between Survivor and The Amazing Race over there.

Ten just ran a teaser for RLB for 8.30 Wednesday, then a promo that itâs on at 7.30 Wednesday with âtwins arriving on Thursdayâ. Donât know if the 8.30 bit was a typo or what.
