Yeah I have seen Janet a couple of times in Melbourne. Pretty sure she lives with her partner in Toorak, I’ve actually driven passed her a couple of times waiting to turn into a side street in Toorak/Sth Yarra area so I assume she lives there (or her partner does).
I really would love Chyka to return this season.
She may be back in Melbourne, she was residing at Red Hill, but using her partners house as a base during filming on the last season, before that she was primarly staying in a hotel.
Ok fair enough. Your post implied that she lived in another state. Makes sense for during filming all cast members are based in and around the CBD for crew and filming logistics.

Agreed. It should be a 2 season sign on as a minimum. I still don’t understand the reasoning behind the gaps.
Apart from the gap between last season and this season, the show aired consistently from 2014 - 2017 for seasons one to four. Not sure what other gaps you guys are talking about?
There was a year gap between (11 months essentially) season 3 and 4…
As the normal slot for Melbourne was occupied by the first season of Sydney. The idea initially was to alternate each year with the Sydney and Melbourne franchise. Season 4 aired in December that year
I’d hardly classify that as a gap. It still aired year to year.
It’s similar to heaps of shows. What about shows that move to mid season in the US after a few years? That’s not a gap. Ending in May then not back til at least the next January. It’s still year to year.
The Block also didn’t air for 18 months in order to transition from Q1 to Q3.
I’d be more inclined to call the upcoming season as a revival more than a long gap between seasons.
You were half right. Jackie is struggling to start a family with husband Ben Gillies (Silverchair drummer) and is on her fourth round of IVF treatment. She is leaving the show in order to get fertile.

I’m glad that Gina and Janet are coming back. I hope Lydia does too as she is an orginal and as much as I don’t like her she is hilarious to watch. For me after this long break Gamble is disposable. I liked her when she first came on but each season she annoyed me more and more.
I read an article yesterday that seemed to think there have been hints that someone who has previously left the show might be returning. You can rule out Susie (because bringing her back would be pointless) and Pettifleur (because she seems to hate the show and everyone on it). I am doubting Andrew would do it again either unless she wants to resurrect herself… but I’m hoping that it means Chyka might make a comeback.
March film date probably means a 3 month shoort till end of May so hopefully airs not long after that.
They’ve just announced on Facebook that the official cast announcement will be made this Wednesday. It also mentioned that Venus is out.
Thank god Venus & Sally are gone. Added nothing to the show, Shame Jackie isn’t coming back as she points out the bullshit… fingers crossed Chyka returns to keep the group in line… they need someone like Chyka so things don’t go chaotic… like the Sydney season way to chaotic so the axe fell. Season 3 was my favourite.
