Could the show reduce to once a week?
Have Neighbours at 6pm and then The Project on Mondays at 6:30 to 7:30?
I think it needs a fresh start. I’m not opposed to Sarah Harris taking over Lisa’s spot, but I think they need someone with pulling power to lead. Not sure who. And Waleed should step down too and give the show a complete fresh start IMO.
Who cares nobody watches that trash anyway. They could have a robot hosting it, the ratings have bottomed out they can’t go any lower.
I think the producers need to go also. Hosts are just pushing all the forced woke bullshit that they are served.
Yes, The Project needs a new start to 2023. The two main hosts should return to hosting Monday to Fridays, with a separate team on Sundays.
And the interviews at the end of most shows should be longer, because they usually show long-winded footage of the guest prior to them coming on the show, then ask 2 or 3 questions, before the show’s closing music starts, thus ending the interview.
It should be 7 nights a week. Refreshed weeknight and weekend teams.
Just run one team M-F. Any reason they need a weekend show?
I really don’t know who can save it. I can’t think of anyone. They pissed around with Studio 10 and they have crashed to what is permanent new lows.
Certainly is a huge risk here. If it starts to decline how long do 10 give it? 2023 is make or break it would appear.
Wasn’t Hamish McDonald meant to develop some projects/specials for 10 and/or Paramount+? Perhaps Lisa could do a similar thing?
It would make more sense for such a format to air on Sunday nights in the current Sunday Project timeslot. It would be too disjointing to have a separate schedule on Monday’s compared to Tuesday - Friday.
Slightly unrelated, but I’ve always wondered how The Project has managed to get all these A List celebs on the show every week, yet is falling in the ratings. Makes you wonder how much money is thrown at the guests and how much is actually allocated to production costs. The hosts pushing certain political agendas doesn’t help either and the viewing public are sick of it.
Where else are they meant to go to promote their product in prime time on Australian TV? Very few options.
Most of the time they’re promoting things and are offered up via PR teams/agencies.
If there’s going to be a mass exodus as Peter Ford is suggesting, then where are they going to find all these replacements? There’s not exactly a long list of both male and female candidates who would realistically join the show.
Neighbours would rate just as bad as The News/Project are doing now if the Neighbours 10 Peach ratings are any indication.
Are there any other ex-Dancing with the stars judges they can poach?
They need to blow the show up and rebuild from the ground up. It needs to be a lot lighter so as to be an alternative to the news and caf on the other channels. Make it more like the the old Studio 10, The Panel and even look at 3AW Breakfast for inspiration because their producers manage to get some fabulous guests to discuss lighter newsworthy topics.
Hot topics discussion, satire, some variety elements and the odd musical guest or comedian would be better than these earnest, didactic reports that they love to trot out. Nobody’s looking for Walkley award winning journalism from The Project. Help us wind down with something informative and entertaining.
I think it’s inevitable that the current show needs an overhaul. The current setup just isn’t working. People have been calling for this and 10 now have an opportunity to make changes.
I would expect less opinion based content next year. The show needs to return to more entertainment and comedy based formate.
Sounds like it would be easier to just send it to Sydney
It’s not… as it’s been pointed out. 90% of the production and crew are based in Melbourne. Plus the current Sydney talent flying down are half the problem.
Im not a fan of Wilkinson but geesh Peter Ford is a nasty piece of work.
Agree. Terrible tweet by him.
