Oh.
I’m Torn
I only caught the end of it while switching over to MC, but seems The Project and Carrie were up to their old tricks while interviewing Natalie Imbruglia.
Put some allegation to her for comment about (I assume) about a music exec to which Nat had no idea what they were talking about or what the charges were for. She seemed quite taken aback.
What are they trying to achieve with this show?
Natalie was shocked by the story, but seemed pretty happy to answer/go along with the questioning. It was topical discussion, she added her 2c. I don’t see anything wrong with it in this case.
Surely they should have flagged it with her before the interview though instead of putting her on the spot. She handled it very professionally but shouldn’t have been put in that situation in the first place imo
Which is my point. And exactly what they did the other week with Delta.
I thought Delta cleared it up the other week that she just couldn’t hear the question.
So all television has to be scripted these days down to the detail of every question? If one is going on a show with a bunch of journalists, expect to be asked questions about what’s topical in your industry… Otherwise, its nothing more than a free plug for her album… Eh, perhaps that’s what audiences like.
Why does every question have to be telegraphed in advance? And, given the interview wasn’t labelled as live, do we know for certain that she was aware in advance and just put on that answer.
It was very big news in the music industry today and a legitimate question. It would have almost been strange not to have asked.
I think out of respect, all questions should be outlined to the interviewee prior to to the interview so they can prepare their answers. The last thing you want is for them to get a question on the spot and give a flustered, half-done answer, not good for the producers to witness and also not good for the interviewee if they’re not a natural communicator.
Natalie Imbruglia is spruiking a new single and upcoming album and is probably doing 50 million interviews at the moment. I doubt she had time to see the news about events unfolding today in the music industry or was able to read up on upcoming questions and preparing answers for every interview she does.
this ain’t it, chief
Looks like PVO stuck in Canberra until the end of the next sitting week rather than coming back to a lockdown. I’m pretty sure he lives in the Eastern suburbs and pyrmont is in city of Sydney.
Wasn’t he in Adelaide (holidaying) during the week?
I saw him file from Canberra the other night but that could’ve changed since then.
Susie Youssef is back. She hadn’t been on the show in a while…
I think it was back in Jan/Feb… I assumed she was filming Make It Australia. It was actually nice to have her back on tonight.
